Can share why if you want or just share the song name. Or add a link so we can listen.

Attended an online funeral today and they played Highland Cathedral and realised it is always one that gets me. I was at this Proms in the Park that's seen on the video and I cried then and cried today when I heard it.

The Scientist by Coldplay. I heard this on the radio as I was getting ready to go to my ex-boyfriend's funeral, he was 24. I can't listen to it, even now.

A few others, but that's the main one for me.

FourForYouGlenCoco · 23/05/2020 17:31

See You Again by Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth, and Bullet In The Gun by Planet Perfecto. Both remind me so much of my lovely friend/one who got away, who died the week before his 26th birthday. Those songs make my heart hurt. I don’t think I’ll ever not miss him.

The song in the snowman and snow dog always makes me cry. No idea why

RedDiamond · 23/05/2020 18:05

Another vote for "Slipping through my fingers" by ABBA. Absolutely cry buckets when I hear that.

ladymalfoy · 23/05/2020 18:09

Little Drummer Boy. I’m an atheist but it sums up what faith should be about.
Morning Has Broken.
Blackbird by The Beatles.
Martha as above

topcat2014 · 23/05/2020 18:11

mommybear1 · 23/05/2020 18:21

Everybody wants to rule the world - simply because it was the first song I heard after coming home with DC1 who had been a premie, he was very poorly as was I. It came on the television and I was sitting on my own settee, in my own living room (which was a building site due to renovations) I had the log burner on (winter baby) and DC1 on my lap and I just sobbed. I had never been so happy, I was home, my baby was safe and we were healthy.

AgeLikeWine · 23/05/2020 18:22

I just called to say I love you by Stevie Wonder.

I hate this song with an absolute passion. Most great artists produce a few awful songs during their careers, but this is on another level of crap. The nauseating saccharine sentimentality, the Casio keyboard production and the cringe-inducing ‘cha-cha-cha’ at the end. Stevie Wonder is a musical genius, so it’s a small tragedy that this dreadful song was his biggest hit and the song for which he is best known in the U.K.

Squaffle · 23/05/2020 18:23

Another vote for Dance With My Father

Also the themes to the movies ‘Up’ and ‘Brokeback Mountain’... the latter shuffled itself in when I was out walking and listening to music the other day and I proper ugly cried in the park!

GinGinHooray · 23/05/2020 18:27

You'll never walk alone.

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 23/05/2020 18:30

There's some incredible songs on this thread.

Sound of silence - I love the original and The Disturbed versions but the recent Bands of HM Marines cover gave me complete goosebumps.

Heaven can wait - Meatloaf

Into the West - Annie Lennox
