I think it's tacky and a waste of money. I genuinely can't understand why you'd want your name (or some ridiculous incarnation) as your car reg, but maybe I'm a grumpy bitch.

It’s harmless. Don’t see why people get excited but really don’t understand why people get upset at them either.

Not for me but each to their own. If he can afford it, I’d leave him to it. My partner and I have very different ideas on what is worth spending money on.

I have one, but it’s subtle as it says my name without it screaming my name. You’d think it’s just a number plate, but I point out, it’s actually my name with the numbers mixed. Someone random off the street won’t notice but people who know my name will.
It’s two letters/two numbers/three letters.
It makes my car look older than it is, so less chance of it being stolen.
