so say when coffee shops and restaurants are allowed to reopen, will you be going? I can’t see myself being comfortable going out to eat for quite some time

Yep I've been working throughout this in a hospital. I've not probably felt the full on being at home in lockdown throughout so can understand some anxiety. When safe I'll be happy to resume my normal activities when I can. Good hygiene and hand washing awareness!

We've slowed it down which was the aim and the NHS coped well. Of course we need to be cautious and I don't expect to be doing normal things for a while yet. The aim wasn't to lockdown forever it's not sustainable for health, social and economic reasons.

We need better and consistent testing, tracking and tracing. People need to be more aware of their personal space and hand hygiene. Don't go out if sick for example. Maybe masks or face coverings will be worn The vulnerable may need to be cautious or shielded.

@hobnobsaremyfave if you’re not happy on my thread then don’t read it anymore. Quite simple really

They can keep her on the register and mark her as authorised absence for the two months

Authorised by whom? The Aggressive and Violent Pea Authority?

Spudlet · 05/05/2020 18:26

Oooooo-kay. I see.

Time to stop feeding the crazy, then... Confused

Waxonwaxoff0 · 05/05/2020 18:26

Meanwhile, those of us who aren't acting hysterically would like our children back in education and to get back to work.

IF I DONT THINK IT IS SAFE TO SEND MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL THEN I WONT. THAT IS FOR ME TO DECIDE

ita not your own thread.

Ita a public thread that you started.

You need to grow up, because your distinct lack of knowledge about anything, means your kids will suffer when you are homeschooling them.

Sunshinegirl82 · 05/05/2020 18:27

Ok, dereg and homeschool. Job done.

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 18:28

I’m not a teacher so I won’t be homeschooling.

No homeschooling will be happening. She can continue to use google classroom

MartiniDry · 05/05/2020 18:31

No. I haven't self isolated for this long just to be foolish enough to be part of a second, far worse wave.

My only disappointment is that I won't be taking my much looked forward to trips to the coast and visits to family as both of these would involve me taking a train.

Peggysgettingcrazy · 05/05/2020 18:31

You don't need to be.

When schools are back, if your child isn't back. You will be fined. Or forced to deregister.

Its good for schools. Lots of people home school means smaller classroom numbers.

Welcome to the Real world.

Unless google classroom won't be happening because teachers will be too busy teaching actual lessons when the majority of children will be in school.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you are not special.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 05/05/2020 18:33

Google classroom and it's Ilk will stop once the majority of pupils go back to school
Exceptions made I expect for the very vulnerable and shielded for a short time

Peggysgettingcrazy · 05/05/2020 18:34

funny cause a quick AS shows op walks her dog 4 times a day.

And is a care worker. So far more risk to her daughter, than school actually is.

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 18:34

I don't think Google classroom will be going in any decent capacity but I respect your choice not to send your children in.

Chloemol · 05/05/2020 18:35

No

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 18:35

@peggysgettingcrazy and you feel it’s necessary to stalk my page?
