so say when coffee shops and restaurants are allowed to reopen, will you be going? I can’t see myself being comfortable going out to eat for quite some time

And these will be the parents demanding online resources and support till doomsday
I get a degree of hesitation but at some point parents will need to decide
Back to school or homeschool
Teachers can't be expected to do both
Indefinitely

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 05/05/2020 18:17

Again this is my choice and like I said that is all I am after.

I won't have a choice, when schools go back, I'll go back which means DD needs to go back.

IdblowJonSnow · 05/05/2020 18:17

When my kids are back at school it would seem pointless for me to hibernate. I love cafes so cant wait for that. And haircut fairly desperate!
Small groups of very close friends yes. Not generally into massive gatherings.
It will be on my mind and if numbers shoot back up then I'll prob go back to hibernating. Sad

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 05/05/2020 18:18

Yeah right
Cracking peas
You're actually quite amusing

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 18:18

People are fucking stupid! If we all rush out at once that’s asking for trouble!

Peggysgettingcrazy · 05/05/2020 18:19

until I see a definite fall in cases

There already has been.

Tbh, schools will go back. People who don't choose to send their kids back will, at some point, be forced to deregister their children and home school.

Sillysop92 · 05/05/2020 18:19

Yes to a bookshop for a browse and a coffee. Then a haircut as soon as I can.

fourpeasinapod · 05/05/2020 18:19

WELL WISE UP !!!!

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 18:19

Well we know writing of the whole school year won't happen but if that's what you want then I am not here to judge. What you do with your children is up to you, but we all know soon enough there will be fines and people losing their school places.

Sorry, november!

OP posts:
Sunshinegirl82 · 05/05/2020 18:21

That won’t happen OP. You need to dereg and homeschool for a while if that’s what you’re looking for.

@Sunshinegirl82 I’m not deregistering dd. They can keep her on the register and mark her as authorised absence for the two months

You will definitely be in lockdown then if you punch the head so that's a win.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 05/05/2020 18:22

If they even think of fining me I’ll punch the head teacher in the face

Well you're definitely not the role model to follow in this situation. You just lost all the high moral ground you carefully tried to build in this thread.

SomewhereEast · 05/05/2020 18:22

Peggysgettingcrazy I think people aren't aware of the economic horrors on the horizon because Gov interventions have artiifically postponed them (not complaining about this by the way!), but the general concensus seems to be that we're heading for the biggest global economic downturn since the Great Depression. And that will also cost lives. In the UK the average lifespan in economic depressed places is often at least a decade shorter than the average lifespan in affluent areas. And thats in a developed country where there's some kind of safety net for people who lose their livelihoods. In other countries factory closures etc due to the collapse in Western demand in some sectors is already leaving people destitute. Its not heartless to care about lives that don't show up on the daily UK Covid stats.

PrincessConsueIaBananaHammock · 05/05/2020 18:23

P.S. Heads don't fine, the LA does.

Sweetheart1313 · 05/05/2020 18:23

Yes 100%. I’d happily go to a pub, restaurant or the hairdressers tomorrow if they were open. I’d go tonight if I could.

Peggysgettingcrazy · 05/05/2020 18:23

If they even think of fining me I’ll punch the head teacher in the face

You sound like a petulant teenager.

I would bet a years wages you actually don't.

Why would you punch the head?

And you won't get fined. Because they won't have teachers trying to teach in the classroom and pupils at home.

Its more likely you will be forced to home school.

You need to grow up

Sunshinegirl82 · 05/05/2020 18:23

I’m sure that will happen OP!

Daisylily656 · 05/05/2020 18:23

Not straight away no.

HildegardeCrowe · 05/05/2020 18:24

Suggest you wise up fourpeas . Hilarious that you’re accusing other people of being f...... stupid 😳

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 05/05/2020 18:24

I'm quite glad fourpeas won't be sending her imaginary children back to school
