Will you go out when lockdown is eased?

so say when coffee shops and restaurants are allowed to reopen, will you be going? I can’t see myself being comfortable going out to eat for quite some time

I am looking forward to the gym opening so I can swim again and just do something different than exercising at home and walking or cycling. I miss the gym!

Teens if the school is open my child will be going. I guess that will turn them into a mini killer. Just like their mum

Nice... no skin off my nose 🤷🏻‍♀️

Jeeperscreepers69 · 05/05/2020 19:02

Ok guys im patronising and ill informed. Hope you enjoyed jumping like rabid rottweilers at me. I had a opinion i wasnt patronising anyone and the immune system is a undervalued peice of kit. Regardless of underlying conditions

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 19:04

There will always be a risk teens no need to be rude about it. Again it is a teacher's perogative if they go back or not but I expect the same treatment for them that I would get if I didn't turn up for work. (who the hell lights mountain fires?)

@Coronabored...... Meet you on the naughty step

StopGo · 05/05/2020 19:19

No. My DH is one of the thousands of people who couldn't access NHS care due to Coronavirus. He's now terminally ill. We need to get things as near 'normal' as possible.

Jeeperscreepers69 · 05/05/2020 19:19

@IncrediblySadToo... Just hush woman. And for the record im not 51. Where did you get this information from? Sorry about all your ailments old girl. Just stay indoors and keep warm

ChasingRainbows19 · 05/05/2020 19:20

@fourpeasinapod I was on a children's ward. Children are less affected by covid than lots of other viruses around but your children go to school in flu season or norovirus time?

We get very busy sept/Oct when they start back at a school and catch each other germs. A staggered return for a few weeks before summer isn't a bad thing. children need interaction too.

Second or even third wave is absolutely likely in winter but surely let people mix a bit over the summer If they **choose to. No one is making vulnerable people go out to catch it but we are adults that can decide to make choices and safely. No One is rushing out I'll make considered decisions but people already out and about more

If cases remain steady over summer it may just stop a crazy peak over winter when we also deal with crazy numbers of patients and queuing ambulances with covid. It will be horrendous . If numbers increase sharply with the relax of lockdown there should be a plan b ready by the government

Do you live in the real world? If the Govt decide schools go back teachers won’t have a choice. They will have to go back and spare you the distress of having to look after the children you chose to have, but can’t cope with.

As for kids lighting fires I guess you don’t live with constant mountain fires - lit by the children of parents who couldn’t give a fuck where they are or what they are up to? Un-fucking-believable!

Not everyone lives in a happy bubble you know! Some of us have to live with the consequences of neighbours dire parenting! 🤬

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 19:23

It's normally around this time that people organise a protest. How would the "let's not ease lockdown for another 6 months" brigade march if they can't leave the house?

sourcreamnchives · 05/05/2020 19:24

Try n stop me

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 19:25

How does me wanting my children to have an education equate to I can't cope with? What a massive stretch to go to. And yes there aren't many mountains in the east Midlands.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 05/05/2020 19:29

I can see that they will need to relax the lockdown, but I won't be rushing out to shops and cafes. I've been working throughout, albeit in a different way (vet), so I've been out to work and to the supermarket, no desire to go anywhere else, tbh! I'm actually surprised at how little I care about " getting back to normal". I've seen more of my friends and family via virtual sources than I usually do. I have my close family around me, and as someone whose ideas of bliss is a jigsaw or a puzzle book, I'm slightly baffled at people desperate to go to cafes and shopping centres. But we are all different.

There you go @coronabred. Not everyone lives in your bubble! Bastards!!!! I wouldn’t want to be obliged to teach them.... 🤬 They are the product of their parenting!

pipnchops · 05/05/2020 19:31

Coffee shops, restaurants not fussed as they're no fun with little children but I'll be straight to the park and beach asap.

Coronabored · 05/05/2020 19:32

I still don't see the link. I would imagine parents wanting their children to be educated are even more caring unless I am missing something?

ButterflyBitch · 05/05/2020 19:32

Maybe not but I do want to see my friends. Cup of tea and a chinwag while my daughter plays with her friends who she is missing desperately. Yes. Coffee shops and restaurants maybe not. Drink down the pub wouldn’t go amiss though.
It’s so weird out there st the mo though. Can’t see it going back to normal quickly anyway.

ThePlatypusAlwaysTriumphs · 05/05/2020 19:34

Thinking about it, I do miss long walks with the dogs, but I would prefer to stay away from people as much as possible, and everywhere will be mobbed, so I wouldn't enjoy it very much anyway. I don't like other people Grin

SpeedofaSloth · 05/05/2020 19:35

I long for a coffee in Sainsbury's cafe and a newspaper.

It depends on whether grandparents are allowed to babysit. If they aren't, then we won't be able to go.

We will all go to the hairdresser when they reopen (apart from DH who has no hair) and will start doing activities (e.g. swimming) as soon as we can.

everythingisginandroses · 05/05/2020 20:28

This thread is hilarious. OP asks people if they will be happy to start going out to eat and drink when restrictions are lifted. Loads of posters say: "Yes, I can't wait!" and start listing all the stuff they are looking forward to doing. OP starts calling people 'fucking stupid' and shouting 'WISE UP!' at some reckless hellraiser who would like to go to a bookshop. MN Classics, anyone? Grin
