Here continues the tale of the Robbing Butcher, his whimsical opening hours, and TheMustressMhor's daily quest for his finest produce.

ooh err matron mustress! never actually tried that...

more sodding hours of gardening, on the + side for DH he has put up the new bathroom cabinets for the DDs. on the - side, it involved a lot of shouting, then he disappeared into the mancave. After lunch I offered him a quiet afternoon lying in bed while I held up items of his clothing for him to bin (this was declined sadly).

TheMustressMhor · 03/04/2020 16:28

Fuck that, yolo.

I just chuck out any old garments of Mr. Mhor's when I decide they are past their best (or I don't like them) and then pretend I don't know where they are when he asks about them.

TheMustressMhor · 03/04/2020 16:30

And maybe Mr. Yolo thought your offer of a quiet afternoon nap was a euphemism for hours of wild, abandoned sex.

When you mentioned chucking out his clothes he would not have been interested, for obvious reasons.

PenguinOrHippo · 03/04/2020 16:41

Oh... you are not accepting the friend request... do you think that this will put you in a worse position to get access to the best sausages...? That is a less sinister possible results of refusing - addition to the more serious getting murdered and fed to various live stock. Mustress how difficult is it to buy animal food where you live? If it is hard to come by in these times, maybe you have to be extra careful...

Just as Mr Hippo was at risk to be put in assorted boxes, he did something amazing. He cooked dinner. Toad in the hole. So yummy, properly made from scratch. And he insisted I came up into the attic to look today. Very cute and proud. So he is forgiven for now.

PenguinOrHippo · 03/04/2020 16:45

Is it too early for a drink? We have finished an extraordinary painful project on teeth (11+ level), gone through a maths topic the school curriculum seems to have missed, done all music practice and fought over comprehension with all three angry little hippos. I have also cleaned the kitchen and bathroom. And been in the attic and sorted out two dusty boxes.

I feel like a hot bath and a G&T in the bath...

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 03/04/2020 18:53

Hippo that sounds like an awful lot for one day. I think I could string that out for a week, easy. You have definitely earned WineWineWine

PenguinOrHippo · 03/04/2020 19:02

I did have a G&T in the bath Smile, so good.

Unfortunately I feel like I have a bit of a temperature coming on. Mr Hippo raided the freezer for pizza and I went up to bed after my bath. Am hoping that a long night of sleep will push down whatever it is.

yoloPenguinsEatfish · 03/04/2020 19:04

hippo I have just had a hot bath, with Radox Muscle Soak and Wine. Good weather is on the way so shaved my pits and legs - it's like bloody Christmas!

You would think at 23 and almost 21 my DDs would have reached a stage of maturity which didnt involve a row about who got the top cabinet and who got the one lower down. You would be so, so wrong.

PenguinOrHippo · 03/04/2020 19:22

Yolo, that sounds so nice!! I should have had some soak (made do with some shower gel for the bubbles).

I guess a bathroom cabinet (top or bottom) has some long term value....? The little hippos had an epic fight about who would chose freshly baked scones in which order Grin. (Homemade, so varying sizes)

7Penguins · 03/04/2020 19:53

I’m such a daffodil around new people!

I see baths with a drink are popular today - sounds perfect.

PenguinOrHippo · 03/04/2020 21:48

hope you are ok 7 ? Hope that is it for the week?

Just gone to bed with a book. A warm, cuddly little hippo is sleeping in our bed. Secretly loving every minute (Mr Hippo will carry her out when he goes to bed)

7Penguins · 03/04/2020 22:08

Hippo I'm well, just sleep deprived. I was surprised to see my face on Zoom calls - so gaunt, despite putting make up on.
Hope you have a nice snuggly early evening and no high temp tomorrow.

CleansUpPenguinPoo · 04/04/2020 00:53

This is a strange night. Hope everyone gets lots of rest, and hope everyone feels better in the morning.

What a fine morning. Dippy poached eggs are required for fortification to tackle the garden. So happy I have a garden

Feel for those folks who don’t.

Mustress. Has the patio grown on you yet?

PenguinOrHippo · 04/04/2020 09:25

Dippy poached eggs... that sounds delicious. I had tea and toast in bed to celebrate a day free from distance learning, but I might head downstairs for a second breakfast soon...

7Penguins · 04/04/2020 09:37

I am full of porridge and in a rocking chair, with baby napping on me. 😊

Garden tidy later today here too, as weather is said to be glorious.

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 04/04/2020 10:17

I too am looking forward to fine weather, though tomorrow is supposed to be best for us in the SW. The rose arch is beckoning...

APenquinIsCuttingthegrass · 04/04/2020 10:56

Ah the arch rose. Such a bloomin pain to sort but such a wondrous sight when bloomin

What colour is yours? Mine is white. I’m going to tackle the climbing ones today. Will try to avoid losing too much blood and then sit back with Wine and admire

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 04/04/2020 11:09

Hello 👋 hope everyone is ok 👍
I'm still about just lurking!
All this drama has smoked me out 🐧

TheMustressMhor · 04/04/2020 11:13

Mustress. Has the patio grown on you yet?

No.

TheMustressMhor · 04/04/2020 11:15

"Lurking" again, jeff?

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 04/04/2020 11:21

Always mustress!
Sorry I've been away , things have just got a bit too real lately , if you know what I mean 🙁

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 04/04/2020 12:06

Strictly speaking the rose arch is a clematis prop. I've never had much luck with roses, sadly. I keep trying to find a very fragrant abundant climber, recommendations welcome from any gardeners out there.

The clematis is an evergreen, and it was doing well till the old rose arch got blown down by the strong winds we had a few weeks (months?) ago. I'm hoping the new heavy duty arch will fare better.

I know I'm lucky, particularly now, to have my own open space, but it's bloomin' hard work at the moment. Compost bins full, nowhere to dump the grass cuttings and leaves, weeds cheerfully taking over. And Mr Fleas is like a man possessed with the lawnmower. Honestly, he picks his times...

Myimaginarypenguinhasfleas · 04/04/2020 12:07

jeff that sounds troubling. Hope is well with you, or as well as can be.Thanks

jeffgoldblumlovespenguins · 04/04/2020 12:12

An ok fleas , just stressed and worried about kids and mrjeff,
As I'm sure we all are ! Smile
