I always try and open the Windows even for a short time

fjreflycaramel · 25/01/2020 20:18

We have two windows that are permanently open, apart from holidays I don't think they have been closed in nearly 20 years.

isseywith4vampirecats · 25/01/2020 20:19

open mine for day every day close them about 3pm

topcat2014 · 25/01/2020 20:20

I try not to have the heating on at the same time as opening the Windows

Changeembrace · 25/01/2020 20:20

Every day without fail. All bedroom windows. I’m obsessed with good fresh air circulation! I open around 8am and close when I get back early / mid afternoon

KellyHall · 25/01/2020 20:21

All windows open, at least on their catch, all day. Closed at night if outside goes below about 3 degrees Celsius!

stripeypillowcase · 25/01/2020 20:22

at least every morning and evening for 10 min or so I turn down the thermostat and open all windows as far as they go.

Growingboys · 25/01/2020 20:22

Every day all day, in all bedrooms/bathrooms - I'm obsessive about stale air and hate it. Close them 4pm when the heating goes on.

aNonnyMouse1511 · 25/01/2020 20:23

Never.

Ruddle91 · 25/01/2020 20:24

Erm - days I'm at work I don't air the place but days off the windows are open for an hour or so until spring then they're on vent all the time til autumn

Bombaybunty · 25/01/2020 20:24

Never. Windows are only opened when it's warm.

Junie70 · 25/01/2020 20:26

Every day.

I've had the back door open too for most of today.

Can't bear a shut up house!

Cecilia2016 · 25/01/2020 20:30

I open every day when I’m tidying up the rooms.

Skyejuly · 25/01/2020 20:31

Every morning

bloodywhitecat · 25/01/2020 20:33

Every day. We have single glazing except for in FC bedroom, that room has double glazing and is always open on the latch. Our bedroom window is open all the time and so is the kitchen window.

Mumof1andacat · 25/01/2020 20:36

Every day. Bathroom is always on the catch winter or summer. Bedrooms every day on the catch for a few hours at least.

Holymolymackerel · 25/01/2020 20:36

Bathroom window and master bedroom open all the time.
Other bedrooms in the day 9 till 4 ish
Downstairs not so much, I should open them more

GeorgiaGirl52 · 25/01/2020 20:37

Never

sparkli · 25/01/2020 20:38

Everyday. Open all the bedroom windows 1st thing and shut when I get home around 2.30pm. Open the others for half an hour a day when I get in. It's important to air the house to avoid damp.

Vinorosso74 · 25/01/2020 20:38

Back is aired daily-back door open for cat at times and windows are often locked slightly open. Bedroom windows also locked slightly open for at least an hour. I don't like leaving windows in lounge open due to burglary risk around our way. I sometimes lock them open whilst we're mooching about.

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 25/01/2020 20:39

I try to every day, even if it's only for an hour or so.

Rumboogie · 25/01/2020 20:39

As often as poss. However, I frequently have to close them due to smoke from neighbours’ wood burners. This has only been a problem for the last few years and I am not sure who is responsible. It’s a real bind...

suchsweetsorrow82 · 25/01/2020 20:39

Every day. Depending on how cold it is depends on how long they stay open! I always pull back quilt covers and open windows. Then go back about an hour later to make them. Normally open until around midday. At night we sleep with the window on the latch unless it’s Baltic. Heating is never on at night. Can’t stand being too hot in bed !

stripeypillowcase · 25/01/2020 20:39

if you don't air your home, doesn't it smell?

Mum2jenny · 25/01/2020 20:40

Never at this time of year. Once it’s warmer, and the heating is not on, at least weekly.
