I know it's an unseemly rumour but Andrew's claim to the throne is through the matriarchal line, and as Phillip is the legally named father, he isn't nor will he ever be a "declared bastard" like some of the sons of Kings.

But only heirs 'lawfully begotten' can inherit. IF Andrew were illegitimate - and I really really don't think he is - he could not inherit the throne. Anyway, he's so far down the line it's irrelevant at this stage.

I imagine queenie quite rightly gives zero fucks what strangers on the net think of her sons parentage and will never feel any urge to address such speculation. Whether there is any truth in it or not.

She probably had other speculation regarding her son that occupies her mind.

I think if Andrew is NOT lawfully begotten it certainly would be news to him, as he is the most prideful of her children about his status.

I am reminded of Charles having to sit Harry down at a young age and explain the Hewitt rumour and say it wasn't true to prevent him first hearing it from other boys saying it at school.

I'd never heard any rumours doubting Prince Andrew's parentage before this and am not sure I want to. It all seems ridiculous anyway, the Queen always loved her husband and they managed to stay the course. She wanted to have another child or two.

Andrew (certainly when younger) was better looking than his siblings in a more conventional good looking way but he's not unlike either parent or other members of the family. Looking at little prince George when he's serious, he's the image of Princess Diana's brother, Earl Spencer, but I'm pretty sure he is William's son.

Just read a Blind Gossip item suggesting that Harry and Meghan have been asked to return to see Philip and she doesn't want to. Lots of predictable moaning about Meghan. It would be more convincing that they needed to make an urgent dash if the Queen hadn't not gone to the hospital herself and headed off to Sandringham as usual.

Yes, I read that Blind too & thought it was rubbish. That site does seem very anti-Meghan.

Your poor thing. Personally I'd hate a hug from him (or Jeremy Corbyn before I get jumped on from a great height), hugs are for people close to me only.

Some years ago [ saw a photo of Lord Porchester at the age Andrew then was. I could certainly see a resemblance.

The RF celebrate their Xmas on the 24th German style, so unless Prince Phillip is released today; he'll miss Xmas with his family.

Yes, there will have been visits, but as the press won't be camping outside, we'd only know if someone who has visited speaks about it.

At the time of his birth, Andrew was next in line after Charles. No way the queen would risk having an heir out of wedlock
I agree with this. Even if QE was in love with Porchy, there is no way she'd get pregnant by him. There is a 10 year gap between Anne and Andrew so I'm presuming she knew how to avoid pregnancy or would have had a secret abortion rather than risk a constitutional crisis.
