Ah I wouldn't worry too much about the spelling, most of us know what is meant. But no one knows if that is the case either, nor do I care much sorry.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 20/12/2019 20:15

It’s still 5 dats before Christmas.
Why on earth would he choose to go into hospital.
It’s probably some sort of check up and he’ll probably be home by Monday.

The Queen & him don’t exactly live under the same roof.
She’s 93, so her days (and routine) at Sandringham are precious.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 20/12/2019 20:15

Stealth

I have on good authority she got fed up of looking for Platform 9 3/4 and headed off to McD for some nuggets and Fanta.

@kinsss Some posters seem quite naive about how healthcare can work. If he has had a few symptoms related to any one of his previous conditions, it's quite likely that it was agreed a few days ago.
It's not an emergency but that as it's coming up to Christmas and the King Edward is not an acute emergency hospital, (all admissions for anything are planned) it makes sense for him to be checked out before the Christmas hols start and take preventative measures so it doesn't become an emergency.
If it was an emergency, he'd be taken to Papworth or Addenbrokes or wherever was best suited.

Shed be better off in boots with a lunch deal.

WineOrGinOrBoth · 20/12/2019 20:58

Dh suffers with prostate & urinary issues. He often has to be admitted for intravenous antibiotics & will be in for a few days. I see nothing unusual here.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/12/2019 21:02

McDonalds wins because they do the best coffee/lattes etc.

HMQ & family may at times not act all cuddly & live in in each others pockets, but the Queen will certainly be in close contact with Philip by phone/text/FaceTime.

Finally I do not know for certain that the hospital story is a cover, as Philip has gone out to LA to stay with Doris, Megs & Harry for Christmas instead of having to put up with Andrew. Crown Grin

PlomBear · 20/12/2019 21:22

Apparently he’s had prostate cancer and leukaemia.

Stravapalava · 20/12/2019 21:37

Philip has gone out to LA to stay with Doris, Megs & Harry for Christmas instead of having to put up with Andrew.

That sounds infinitely preferable to a Sandringham Christmas to me! Xmas Grin

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/12/2019 21:40

Oops I did type Doria but it got auto spelt to Doris Xmas Smile

olivertwistwantsmore · 20/12/2019 21:54

It saddens me that he's living on his own these days (without family I mean as opposed to staff).
i think he has a frequent visitor.
Charles and Camilla live in different houses- no-one thinks that is odd
That is not widely known. She has her home; but they do live together sometimes too.

Really??? How do you lot know these things??

SunshineCake · 20/12/2019 22:00

Camilla kept her premarital home so she can spend time with her grandchildren there rather than mess up step grandads abode.

PlasticPatty · 20/12/2019 22:04

Apparently he’s had prostate cancer and leukaemia
Poor old sod.

Wauden · 20/12/2019 22:11

Nicholas Witchell mentioned 'observation and treatment'.

chillykiwi · 20/12/2019 22:15

@ihavethefinalsleigh

It's patronising. There's only one r. Repeat after me.

Patronising

Patronising

Patronising

Ihavethefinalsleigh · 20/12/2019 22:22

Patronising definition:

If someone is patronising they speak or behave towards you in a way that seems friendly, but which shows that they think they are superior to you.

There’s no way my spelling correction was friendly.

chillykiwi · 20/12/2019 22:35

Actually it's:

treat in a way that is apparently kind or helpful but that betrays a feeling of superiority.

But we agree that you were not being friendly. However you were being patronising - twice - and demonstrating behaviour that indicates superiority - again twice.

PlasticPatty · 20/12/2019 22:44

Nicholas Witchell is beneath contempt.

FredaFrogspawn · 20/12/2019 22:58

I think her maj would go into Leon in Kings Cross and buy one of those poxy little cardboard cups with four leaves of spinach and an egg. I doubt she could manage a Big Mac - my mum’s her age and would definitely say, ‘ Ooh I couldn’t possibly eat all of that dear.’ And then panic about the wastage.

VanyaHargreeves · 20/12/2019 23:08

What did Prince Charles call Witchell to his boys "Odious" or something

LoveNote · 20/12/2019 23:15

hope he's ok

JohnLewisIain · 20/12/2019 23:18

I like the word prostrate.

KitNCaboodle · 20/12/2019 23:22

Noticed my mistake just now as I was reading the thread again. I’m such a stickler for spelling too. So pleased this place is anonymous.

Tootyfilou · 20/12/2019 23:24

135,000 children will be homeless this Christmas. 4.1 million children living in poverty. Think I will save my tears for them rather than a fascist parasite.

TracyBeakerSoYeah · 20/12/2019 23:49

I agree with the first half of your sentence (which is diabolical in a first world country like ours) but not the second half. It's not Philip's fault & he is not a facist parasite.
