What are your favourite breeds of dog ?

Mine are:

Really big: Great Dane, especially Harlequin;

Big: Newfoundland, any shade of brown;

Less big: Labrador Retriever, any colour;

Medium: Border Collie, especially Blue Merle;

Smaller: English Show Cocker Spaniel, roans and colour 'patches';

Smaller still: Pembroke Corgi;

Fun size: smooth Jack Russell terrier.

@Brigante9 That is almost how I first heard about Cotons The director at my daughter's first school had one and brought him to work. He was such a lovely little dog, great with the children and very easygoing.

The director also had a child with asthma, and there was no problem with the dog. My DH has asthma and is allergic to dogs, so when we were thinking about getting a dog (or at least try to) we settled on a Coton. We found a hobby breeder, where we could meet some Cotons. DH had a good cuddle with several of them, among them the dad and the grandad of our future dog, and he had no reaction. So a few months later we picked up our little ball of fluff.

Greyhound!! Best dogs ever.

We have a Greyhound, Greyhound x whippet, Whippet and a Saluki x Greyhound/Whippet.

The long noses and the expressive get me every time!

A Dalmatian!

In no particular order, these three hooligans.

Newfies. I wanted one for YEARS and finally got mine last year. She's a dick at the moment (like most teenagers) but she gives me the best cuddles and she smells amazing. She's also hilarious.

I also love Bernese Mountain Dogs, Flat Coated Retrievers, and most dogs larger than medium. I am not a small dog person, but miniature Schnauzers are cute.

I don't have a favourite type....this guy is my favourite but he's a mongrel
... Mostly German shepherd/Belgian malinois.

I'll always have rescue animals so it's not the type but the temperament that's important to me as they have to be good with kids

Just staffies. All the staffies 😍

I love the Bedlington Terrier. They remind me of a lamb.

I love intelligent herding breeds.

I own German shepherds

One day I hope to have a corgi and a leonberger!

I loved our Retrevier yellow Lab cross too.

People saying golden retriever are of course correct.

We have working cockers, we were going for 'smallest dog that is still dog shaped'.

I absolutely love border collies, but as first time dog owners didn't feel 'collie ready'. Also golden retrievers, but too big for us and soooo fluffy! Also anything with a scraggly beard or a Heinz 57.

Not a fan of anything that has been bred into a weird shape for the fun of it. I used to be quite snooty about small yappies until I realised most of it is poor training and daft owners who either let them get away with murder or panic every time they come across another dog so make their own more nervous. Have met some lovely natured JRTs and staffies, but not a fan of short coats particularly.

Border Terriers for me...we rescued our gorgeous boy, I’d wanted one for years. Such amazing characters and so clever too
