Basset Hounds!

NationMcKinley · 25/09/2019 07:19

Dogs. Basically. I can’t have one at the mo but my favourite breed tends to be the one I’ve just talked to when I’m out.

I’ve literally got that broody feeling but for a dog rather than a baby. One day....... I do really love JRT in particular. My friend had a Parsons JR who was amazing

Border collies are the only dog for me, super smart and undemanding most of the time but the perfect walking companion, likes to snuggle on my lap

Border collies. Here's mine having pulled Donald Trumps arms off. Not just a pretty face.

Basically any dog except pug types. I’m not fond of really tiny ones either but would have one if it’s all I could manage!

NoCureForLove · 25/09/2019 07:25

I can't believe no one has given the right answer yet!

Bedlington Terriers are THE best dogs ever.

GalactiCat · 25/09/2019 07:28

Border Terrier every day of the week.

Bonkersblond · 25/09/2019 07:29

Border Terrier, love love mine, full of character and she prefers big dogs to small.
Before her, has to be a Working black lab, slimline and glossy coat - miss her terribly.
A long time ago, Irish Wolf Hound, loved her but can’t imagine owning a big dog like her now.

Milkstick · 25/09/2019 07:32

I'd love a mastiff. Currently have a boxer cross (poss with collie) and he's the light of my life. I love a dog with a massive head, got a thing for english bulls too, I could gaze upon them for ages. I don't know why. Have a friend with the most beautiful Malamute who is a stoic friendly beast of wonder, so those too. Used to have greyhounds. Hilarious beasts, joy on a beach. I also love my own two indefinable breeds: salty sea dogs and crag dogs.

LunaTheCat · 25/09/2019 07:34

I love my Westie - a big dog trapped I a small body.
I also love

  • any dog that loves me
-spaniels -Jack Russells especially the wiry haired ones
  • Labrador’s
  • kelpies
-Rottweilers

Working cockers. They are such wonderful little characters. Great with kids, easy to train, they want to please. Don’t shed a huge amount, compact size without being a miniature dog. Have the softest ears, and once they’re tuckered out like to curl up with you like a cat and snooze.

Milkstick · 25/09/2019 07:34

Used to be anti small dog (though I have met some hilarious, tenacious JRTs) but lately have realised that a lot of knobber dogs are victims of poor training and experiences and quirks in personality that don't always translate across breeds. I'm sorry, wee woofs. It's not your fault.

Xraydog · 25/09/2019 07:37

Irish terrier
If I have to have a big one then an Airedale terrier.
Smaller a wire haired fox terrier or Lakeland terrier

Working cocker all the way! Complete nutters 🤣

Ffsnosexallowed · 25/09/2019 07:45

Had none mentioned boxers yet??? Fabulous fun dogs

CMOTDibbler · 25/09/2019 08:05

I love sighthounds, and would love a blue whippet, but also a very soft spot for borzois.
Outside that class, dobermans (alas would never have a pure breed due to the very poor health of the breed), weimaraners and totally heinz 57 scruffy terrier type dogs

Modestandatinybitsexy · 25/09/2019 08:13

Really big: Bernese mountain dog

Big: Labrador - black / Golden retriever

Less big: Australian shepherd or springer spaniel

Small: Shiba

Fun size: Pomeranian

Modestandatinybitsexy · 25/09/2019 08:20

We accidentally on purpose chose a great big Labrador (ours is on the left)

He's a great big soft oaf and I luffs him

Collie collie collie collie!

We used to have a rough (longhaired) black and white now we have a smooth (shorthaired) blue merle and she is gorgeous.

Nothing but collies in our house.

CherryPavlova · 25/09/2019 09:00

I would say Dalmatians but I’m not sure. He’s sweet but hard work.

Love these pictures-your dogs are all just gorgeous.

RubbingHimSourly · 25/09/2019 09:15

Anything that has a proper nose. I dog sat a friend's Frenchie recently and honestly could have cried for the poor thing. And that's a well bred dog (( as in its nose has holes ))

Other than that all dogs are the same, I love them all. Particularly beagles.
