Reminded on the YouTube thread about an old TV programme I loved as a kid / preteen James The Cat! Got me all nostalgic thinking of others, does anyone remember these?! My faves:

Sea view - with a young Yvette Feilding about a girl who's mam and dad owned a B&B! I was so jealous of her!!
Johnny Briggs! - very relatable as very Northern!
Grange Hill - obvs!
Chocky - but it did scare the shit out of me!
Run around with Mike Reid!
Why don't you? - So desperate to be on it!
The Flumps - was too old but iirc it was on early afternoon so will have been off school sick!! Particularly loved the girl on skates!
Huxley Pig - again too old but loved the theme tune
Cockle shell bay - too cute!
Penny Crayon
Finger mouse - or was it bobs? - the man scared me slightly - v.v. Hairy!!

What were yours?

Raggy dolls, Round the twist, Knight are and one when I was very young about a dolls house. One of the dolls was burned at the end, there was a beautiful nasty doll in it.

I was a huge fan of Brian Cant, so one of my fondest memories was Play Away.

Bobbindobbin · 09/09/2019 16:17

Anyone mentioned Choc-a-bloc or Dappledown Farm?

thenewaveragebear1983 · 10/09/2019 11:22

Weezol · 10/09/2019 16:06

Whilst waiting for the kettle to boil, I found myself singing

If you know someone
Who knows what he knows
Then you must know Heneryyyyy's
(must know Heneryyyyy's)
Must know Heneryyyyy's Cat!

I blame this thread.

Loved Worzel Gummidge, but Robin of Sherwood was our absolute fave. That Clannad theme tune takes me straight back to my childhood.

theluckiest · 10/09/2019 20:35

This thread has reminded me that the very first time I met DH, we reminisced about brilliant kids TV theme tunes from our childhoods...

We got through Fraggle Rock, Henry's Cat, Follyfoot Farm, Dogtanian, the Cities of Gold and many, many more....

Reader, I married him...Grin

AnOojamaflip · 10/09/2019 20:43

Any of the BBC adaptations such as Carrie's War, The December Rose, Moondial and The Box of Delights.

I almost feel sorry for my children missing out on the thrill of finally sitting down after waiting all week for the next episode!!

AnOojamaflip · 10/09/2019 20:46

Oh not forgetting The Chronicles of Narnia!!
