Reminded on the YouTube thread about an old TV programme I loved as a kid / preteen James The Cat! Got me all nostalgic thinking of others, does anyone remember these?! My faves:

Sea view - with a young Yvette Feilding about a girl who's mam and dad owned a B&B! I was so jealous of her!!
Johnny Briggs! - very relatable as very Northern!
Grange Hill - obvs!
Chocky - but it did scare the shit out of me!
Run around with Mike Reid!
Why don't you? - So desperate to be on it!
The Flumps - was too old but iirc it was on early afternoon so will have been off school sick!! Particularly loved the girl on skates!
Huxley Pig - again too old but loved the theme tune
Cockle shell bay - too cute!
Penny Crayon
Finger mouse - or was it bobs? - the man scared me slightly - v.v. Hairy!!

What were yours?

HR Puffnstuff. Best TV show ever!
Although I also loved Chocky and Girl from Tomorrow.

I have several siblings quite a bit younger than me so I saw a lot of kid's tv.

Bertha !! A wonderful machine

BoswellsBollocks · 06/09/2019 19:22

My best friend and I watched an old vhs of Button Moon a couple of years ago to relive our childhoods.

We wish we hadn’t. There was a very creepy giant asking a little girl to sit on his knee and be his ‘special friend’ and a rather racist skit featuring dancing Muslim women wearing burqa.

Ruined our childhood memories I can tell you.

zwellers · 06/09/2019 19:22

And yes to knightmare. Repeats on challenge channel. So many people got sidestep left or right mixed up and died in the corridors of blades or walked off a cliff. Ooooh nasty!

WellTidy · 06/09/2019 19:23

Saturday Superstore (you can be a star on superstore, make your dream come true it’s up to you, the choice is yours, on Saturday super Saturday super Saturday super superstore!)

Followed by The 8.15 From Manchester and then Going Live!

SuperTed
Wizbit
Raggy Dolls
Simon and the Witch

I always tell my kids that TV was so much better when I was young. No crap American ones with fake laughter.

FatTwat69 · 06/09/2019 19:24

Oh forgot Mask! Me and my brother had all the figures and vehicles and would play with them for hours.

Bobbindobbin · 06/09/2019 19:25

I remember a programme set in a stately home, the girl travelled in time and there was a child with a scarred face? I loved it but can’t think of the name.

Anasnake · 06/09/2019 19:25

Dark Towers

Me and You

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 06/09/2019 19:37

Ulysses, Jayce and the Wheeled Warriors, Mysterious Cities of Gold, Fraggle Rock, She-Ra, He-Man, Dogtanian, Dungeons and Dragons, Knightmare, Moon Dial, Children of Green Knowe, the one with a big white dog and a small dark haired boy, (Belle and Sebastian??), Super Ted, Banana Man.

Think I feel a YouTube session coming on, thanks for bringing back all the great memories!

There was also one that we watched in school, something like Dark Knight? Creepy figure in armour kept turning up, and there was an old book with maybe the initial D on it. Was spooky, we never got to see the end, and no one else remembers it!

OnceUponAMidnightBeery · 06/09/2019 19:42

Scooby Doo! Of course! How could I forget, guess i loved being creeped out even then.
