Being nosey...How many people have you slept with?

I've recently had my first ever one night stand after after breaking my virginity at 14 (young I know) and alot of short lived relationships with sex after a few weeks.
Just wrote my list and was surprised that I've slept with 16 men! That seems alot for someone who hadn't had a one night stand until a few months ago!

ONS - I regret mine one because we were both very drunk and the other because it was when I was ‘on a break’ with my long term dp and was generally in slightly messed up unhappy place - don’t really enjoy thinking back to those days much. Grin

More than I have shoes (and I have a LOT of shoes). I did try to count once when my memory was better but I had to give up. It's come back to bite me recently with oral HPV but do I regret it ? It was fun. I'm old now so don't get the opportunities I did. Smile

I’m quite interested in the posters who describe why they regret their ONS- it’s like I have (and this is my issue of course!) a mental block to understanding this. I’m sorry that sounds dismissive- it’s not- I’m genuinely struck by my inability to draw the lines between consensual casual sex, and regret years down the line.

I think maybe I just don’t assign much value to sex? It’s a bit like having a cheeky cigarette, going for a run, or eating a whole pizza - variously “a bit naughty” “good for my psychological wellbeing” and “a bit indulgent”.... but I can’t imagine assigning any more importance to it than any of those things either.

Why is it that sex for some people has great power- and for others none at all?

Genuine pondering- absolutely not goady fuckery.

I seem to rack up the numbers on ONS and FWB casual stuff, in between relationships. Too fragile for sex right now, I'd be catching feelings all over the show and I'm way too big of an emotional mess at the moment.

  1. In late 30s and quite a few ONS. I was a bit of a partier in my late teens so did a lot of stuff I shouldn't have done around that time, the "relationships" I had were probably worse than the ONS tbh.

1 - my ex. I think I wouldn't have been with him (and for so long) if I'd had a few casual things first.

As it is, I'm thinking of dating after I've done a bit more work on myself, especially physically. It'll be nice to try with someone else.

3 of them I was in love with, and were years long relationships. (One my first love as a teen, one my dh)
2 I regret. They were months long relationships but it wasn't love and I just did it as it was what you did (I was 18 and 24).
1 was just good fun in my mid 20s.

Around 110-120 a lot were one night stands and I’m 27. Sounds terrible when you write it down 🤣🙈
