Is it ok to have unpainted toenails?

Just that really, I'm wearing sandals today and feel a bit weird/ unattractive.

Normally have my toenails painted in the summer but didn't have time/ couldn't be bothered so far this year. Wondering if it's ok or really minging/ unattractive?

I'm not trying to attract anyone ;) Feet and nails are clean etc...

Also never wear nail polish on hands but seems different. Maybe because I don't like feet!

It is definitely not OK. PCSOs have the legal right to amputate any visible toes with unpainted nails.

Fwiw I've never seen a nail polish colour that I thought looked as nice as the natural nails.

There will be people who don’t like it, because there are people with opinions about all sorts of things, but why would you care what they think?

I think it is a bit but only because I don't have the prettiest feet! It only takes 5 minutes to put polish on so I'm struggling to see where you can't find the time to do it.

It’s ok if you think it’s ok! I can’t wear sandals with unpainted toenails (or naked toes as I call them!) However that’s just me for me and I never judge or even notice anyone else’s toes.

Umm yes - absolutely fine. I never paint toe or finger nails. Can’t be bothered.

Unpainted or painted toes don’t bother me personally but what does is chipped nails! Don’t know why drives me insane but I wouldn’t comment on another persons! That’s just rude lol it’s my issue.

I think I painted my toenails once. About 20 years ago. Seemed a bit pointless really.

I don't think I've had unpainted toenails since before Blair was PM (obviously have changed the polish now and then Grin) but of course it's ok to have them bare.

So all those who think it looks horrible to have unpainted toe nails.. do you say the same about men? Hmm I've got the same opinion on toenails as I do on every other part of the body, do whatever you want to and don't worry about what other people think.

I don’t think it’s a problem but I really remember a family friend who was a teacher talking about a parent and said ‘and she just doesn’t look after herself she’s never even paints her toenails’. So to some it must be a sign of not making any effort! As long as toes aren’t gross I don’t think it matters :)

Of course it’s okay! I personally can’t stand the sight of my toes with unpolished nails but that’s my issue because I think I have man feet. It’s honestly not an issue in the slightest, just whatever you feel more comfortable with

Is this for real? What do you think will happen if you go out with unpainted toenails?

Are we really so far down this grooming and princessing road that women genuinely need to check if it’s ok not to paint toenails?

I am actually shocked someone would need to ask this. Has to be sarcasm.

In your opinion. It looks awful in mine. Especially when left a bit long. Short and natural looks far better

Mine are unpainted as I can't reach them (33 weeks pregnant) - I hate it but can't pursuade DH to do it for me and can't afford a pedicure!

Anyone who has an issue with it though is very welcome to paint them for me.

Like I said, I don’t judge anyone else on unpainted toenails just myself. And I don’t say it about men - I am very aware that the reason I want my toenails a different colour is for the same reason I like my hair straightened and I wear light makeup every day and shave my legs and underarms. I have been conditioned by society to feel better about myself when I do these things. But just because I know the reason it doesn’t stop me feeling actually better about myself when I do these things. And I like feeling good about myself!
