Is it ok to have unpainted toenails?

Just that really, I'm wearing sandals today and feel a bit weird/ unattractive.

Normally have my toenails painted in the summer but didn't have time/ couldn't be bothered so far this year. Wondering if it's ok or really minging/ unattractive?

I'm not trying to attract anyone ;) Feet and nails are clean etc...

Also never wear nail polish on hands but seems different. Maybe because I don't like feet!

Of course! I always think toes look odd painted anyway, but it's an individual thing. Paint, don't paint, as long as you are comfortable.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/07/2019 15:21

It's fine, I have nice feet and even if I didn't I have better things to do than painting my toenails. Today that is sitting in the shade feeling damp.

@haverhill

I don’t understand your post.

Obviously I’m real.

I was quoting someone else’s post. I would be that weird, judgemental and unprofessional at work!

(Sigh)

Confused This thread I paint mine as my toe nails are minging. However I don't scrutinise anyone else's toe nails. I take that back - my poor daughter who has inherited my troll like feet - poor thing. But she can do as she wants.
sackrifice · 25/07/2019 15:32

Unpainted toes look gross and i told the females this and they did say they would pay more attention and paint them before wearing sandals again.

Females? Are you you the office creep?

BirthdayCakes · 25/07/2019 15:33

Am I alone in thinking unpainted toenails look prettier?!

Slapping some lurid colour on them doesn't make you 'groomed'

userxx · 25/07/2019 15:40

@BirthdayCakes Nope. Definetely not.

Lweji · 25/07/2019 15:41

Why wouldn't it be ok? Hmm

Hotterthanahotthing · 25/07/2019 15:43

I prefer my toenails unpainted but have fungal thing thatakes them look revolting and has resisted treatment so I paint now.
I can't stand chopped either.

Chartreuser · 25/07/2019 15:44

I paint mine to try and make my hoves feet look more decent. Between the fact they're as wide as they're long and I have weird nails that require bolt cutters to tin the nails it just makes me feel much better.

I am always v jealous of women with incisive tired and think how much happier they must be with their feet than me with mine.

Plus I do like the pretty colours, and getting gel toes had been a game changer Grin

Hotterthanahotthing · 25/07/2019 15:45

That should say chipped, chopped toes are not avoid look either.

TigerCubScout · 25/07/2019 15:48

Nail polish just draws attention to the feet - and most people have at least one odd toe/toenail. So why draw attention to them? Leave them natural.

Lweji · 25/07/2019 15:55

i was in the minority as mine are always painted. Unpainted toes look gross and i told the females this and they did say they would pay more attention and paint them before wearing sandals again.

What woman (assuming, as you say yours are always painted) uses the word "females"?

Lweji · 25/07/2019 15:55

Also, why would anyone paint their toes? Wouldn't the nails be better? Wink

Outsomnia · 25/07/2019 15:57

This thread made me smile. I have just completed a clipping of my toenails. I have now got a pain in the small of my back. I don't paint them unless I am going on hols and do a few stretching exercises before bending down.

How do you all paint and clip your toenails without either getting the dizzies or killing your lower back (diy only).

I hate pedicures really hate them. I don't know why, but that's me!

FelixFelicis6 · 25/07/2019 16:01

This is all so fucking depressing. Feminism seems to have failed a bit, doesn’t it... No criticism on you personally, OP, or others, it’s just depressing that this is our world. They’re just feet. You use them to walk with. You don’t need to decorate your toe nails in order to be seem as acceptable as a woman. Men don’t ever get scrutinised for this shit.

JockTamsonsBairns · 25/07/2019 16:14

Totally agree Felix.

qj17 · 25/07/2019 16:15

Its never ok!

Lweji · 25/07/2019 16:16

Its never ok!

Why?

What magic does nail polish perform if your nails are healthy?

Oblomov19 · 25/07/2019 16:19

I have unpainted nails and toes atm. Because I find that my nails need a break from nail varnish every now and then.

Seriously shocked that someone is asking though! Shock

Theimpossiblegirl · 25/07/2019 16:19

Mine are not painted at the moment. My feet are tanned and my nails look nice bare. I feel no pressure to paint or not paint. It's good to have a break from varnish from time to time.

Chartreuser · 25/07/2019 16:23

Felix whilst I absolutely agree and am never having a Brazilian again as it feels so wrong I don't give two hoots what men think of my get as I know most won't even notice.

Women, however . . .

And I know it's me but it's the same as why I always wear full make up and have shaved legs and arms. It/angers me yet I still do it

I have just painted mine but I think it's because I'm off work this week and I've painted the hallway so I'm kind of in the painting zone. Also obviously have a bit more free time than usual so I've done quite a few things like that that I don't normally get around to. It's a nice feeling actually, looking at my shiny toes and buff hallway. But of course OP you do what you're happy with and as long as your feet are clean it's absolutely acceptable to paint or not paint as you wish.
