As an antidote to the irrational hatred thread Wink. I'll start.

Tins of Princes Tuna that are both drained, and have a funky pull lid (not metal) that made me kneel down and weep with joy.

Grobags. I'm useless at gardening, although I wish I wasn't. Can't be arsed with tending to the soil, or most of anything. But I've chucked some grobags back there and suddenly have a tomato jungle coming along quite nicely.

Ladybirds!

Ever since I can remember I've had the same reaction every time I see one. I have to stop what I'm doing and watch it and make sure it gets somewhere safe. No idea why, I just think they're tiny, fascinating and beautiful.

One appeared in my classroom last year and I had to stop the lesson and we had a 5 minute gather round and ladybird chat before we put him outside.

I just bought an Amazon Fire tablet to replace an ancient iPad and I discovered it has Alexa on it. I've enjoyed using it so much I bought a £25 Echo Dot for the rest of the house.

Butterflies. There are loads near me at the moment, especially meadow browns. Beautiful.

ThePinkCushion · 07/07/2019 12:07

Does cake and tea/coffee count? I love the combination so much and there's just something so comforting about having a slice of cake and a nice hot drink.

wonderstuff · 07/07/2019 12:12

First cup of tea, for some reason a second cuppa isn't quite as amazing, but the first one is like a hug in a mug.

BinkyRidesForth · 07/07/2019 12:14

Clean sheets. A shower straight after a run. Snuggling up with ddog on the sofa and listening to her snoozy breathing...

BenWillbondsPants · 07/07/2019 12:17

Oh yes snoozy breathing! My lab snores like a juggernaut and it always makes me smile. Even though sometimes I have to tell him to shup up so I can actually hear the TV.

Rockbird · 07/07/2019 12:21

Absolutely anything related to tea and cake counts. Especially if someone else has made it.

A nice cup of tea. Somehow so soothing. You've inspired me to try some tuna, OP. what did you make with yours?

YesQueen · 07/07/2019 12:26

The morrisons tuna with lemon. Pull ring tin and no draining and tastes fab

FlamingoFlamenco · 07/07/2019 12:31

Bees!

Katinski · 07/07/2019 12:41

ladybirds? Ugh! Angelic looking things, certainly, and I can remember they produced lovely early-reading books Wink but the actual creatures? Get them off me! They contain venom in their knees (or something) and I'm allergicShock

Katinski · 07/07/2019 12:43

But, in the spirit of the thread, bees are bloody beautifulGrin

yamadori · 07/07/2019 12:44

My bonsai trees.

AntennaReborn · 07/07/2019 12:47

A cup of proper coffee and a good book. Sunshine, so rare and precious in Britain! Clean bedsheets. A snuggle with my DD (she's 8 and I know I'm on borrowed time!)

AntennaReborn · 07/07/2019 12:48

Lovely idea for a thread OP, thanks ! Flowers

TalkinAboutManetManet · 07/07/2019 12:58

Candles.

They’ve been around forever, there’s been no real candle technological “advances”, and they’re cheap.

But how amazing are they? Electricity fails- grab a candle. Want to make a room feel instantly cosy and warm of an evening? Light a candle. En-suite a bit whiffy? Light a nice scented candle.

Itellpeopletogoogleit · 07/07/2019 13:00

Trees. I fucking love them. They're beautiful.

omione · 07/07/2019 13:08

Clouds, not tiny bit amazing

BuckingFrolics · 07/07/2019 13:29

Jumping spiders. So cute.

sar302 · 07/07/2019 13:35

My Mexican elbow. I made a bean salad last night for a bbq. Pop the lime in into the elbow, gentle squeeze, and beautiful lime juice for the dressing. No mess, no pulp. Perfect tool

minniemoll · 07/07/2019 13:37

Seeds. The fact that one tiny seed will grown a whole new plant with just some soil and water. That's magic.

TheQueenSnortsAvocados · 07/07/2019 13:43
