As an antidote to the irrational hatred thread Wink. I'll start.

Tins of Princes Tuna that are both drained, and have a funky pull lid (not metal) that made me kneel down and weep with joy.

Finding a book by an author you follow in the charity shop for 50p
Waking up and realising it's your day off and staying in bed
Just sitting, anywhere, in the sunshine
Love the smell of cut grass

CallMeCarolDanvers · 07/07/2019 18:43

Waking up and not having to get out of bed for anything in particular.

The whizzy spinny things to dry out your swimsuit. Amazing, your swimsuit is nearly dry going home instead of making everything in your bag sodden and still being damp the next morning.

Signs of the changing seasons:
cherry blossom in spring
The first roses of summer
The morning mists of Autumn
The first frost of winter

dudsville · 07/07/2019 19:03

Mac and cheese. (A Macaroni is quite small)

Sarcelle · 07/07/2019 19:19

Robins and furry bumble bees.

Popping the seal on a jar of coffee.

New knickers.

Alliumlove · 07/07/2019 19:21

Lemons. Look funny, smell amazing and are endlessly useful!

HelenaJustina · 07/07/2019 19:26

When the DC walk along hand in hand, deep in conversation. They have each other’s backs, same as my siblings and me... makes my heart sing.

Breakfast on my own in the morning while everyone is still asleep, 30 minutes perfect peace.

MiraculousMarinette · 07/07/2019 19:28

Snails. They're just adorable with their little antennae and their little shells and being so slow. It's pretty weird, I know.

FrancesHaHa · 07/07/2019 19:40

My garden. Truly tiny - a slab of concrete on a council estate in London, but currently crammed full of flowers, tomato plants and green things.

Also the bees that visit, never thought I'd get bees where I am, but they're appearing

MorrisZapp · 07/07/2019 19:46

At work there's a magic tap that dispenses boiling water. I love it!

Curly Wurlies, they're the exact right size and they contain salt so I guess we were hipsters in the seventies after all.

The song at the end of Gentleman Jack.

gotmychocolateimgood · 07/07/2019 19:48

I very rarely drink these days but I have a mini bottle of cava tonight and I'm really enjoying it.

TotheletterofthelawTHELETTER · 07/07/2019 19:48

My cats little paws 😍

gotmychocolateimgood · 07/07/2019 19:49

Also, a warm cat purring on my lap.

Drogonssmile · 07/07/2019 20:27

Loud cats' purrs that sound like a crackling log fire
Bumble bees
Being outside in the rain on a hot day
The smell in the air on the morning of November 6th
Daffodils
Being in a hot outdoor pool/hot tub when it's cold or snowing

Moondancer73 · 07/07/2019 20:32

New socks (yes, I'm easily pleased).
And Greek honey - a treat to myself is to buy myself a jar to keep in the cupboard and treat myself to a spoonful here and there with Greek yogurt and blueberries or just on toast. Bliss

OldSpeclkledHen · 07/07/2019 20:40

The sound of my horse munching hay

The sound of cats purring (not allowed pets so have to make do with the farm cats)

Ducklings- there is currently a ducking nursery at the farm... two mums and about 12 babies! So cute!

Guess animals are my thing!

millmoo · 07/07/2019 20:40

Being woken up by the birds singing

CurlyMango · 07/07/2019 20:41

Opening a new jar of coffee.
Clean bed covers and freshly clean bod
Teenagers laughing.

Thisnamechanger · 07/07/2019 20:42

Duvets. Best invention ever.

netflixlove · 07/07/2019 20:46

Coffee

Strawberries (ripe, sweet and juicy ones in the summertime!)

Dogs

Pomegranatemolasses · 07/07/2019 20:47

Rain and wind lashing against the bedroom window - not a particularly summery comment!

Babdoc · 07/07/2019 20:51

The smell of a pine forest in the rain. The view across our local loch. The smell of honeysuckle in a summer evening in the garden. The velvet softness of flower petals. The hymn singing in our village church. The utterly ecstatic look on my cat’s face as she rolls in the catmint. The taste of hot buttered crumpets beside a winter fireside. All priceless!

Rockbird · 07/07/2019 21:01

Some lovely answers here. I feel all warm and fuzzy!

Whenever I see wildlife such as foxes, rabbits, owls, bats, hedgehogs, stoats etc. I just feel so incredibly lucky.

The promise of a new book before I even start reading it.

Definitely a perfect cup of tea and ten minutes alone to savour it.

Hot water - showers and baths to sooth and refresh.

Flowers from the garden - it gives me so much pleasure to have flowers in vases that I picked myself.

The perfect Tomato in a Tomato and red onion salad.

LaurieFairyCake · 07/07/2019 21:33

6am on my front step in my pj's. Quiet, birdsong, cool weather - with my first cup of coffee

6am is my favourite time of day
