What is the name of my DS nursery friend?

DS is 2 nearly 3. His speach is (usually) very articulate. He has never really had "baby talk"

He has been talking about his new friend at nursery. He loves playing with her. He wants her to come for tea. That's great. Except he says her name is Pancake. Which obviously cannot be the case. So what is her name??

Haha! No idea, OP. I've tossed a few names around on my head but none of them sound plausible for a preschooler! I think the nursery staff would be your best bet.

Limpshade · 25/06/2019 03:28

*in my head. Must have had pancakes on the brain Grin

EmmaGrundyForPM · 25/06/2019 03:45

I've been racking my brain but have no idea. Can you ask at nursery?

Is she Indian ? Maybe her name is Parteet?

littlemissmoomoo · 25/06/2019 03:55

He is adament it is pancake. We had them for lunch today and he said "Pancakes! Like my friend!"

I did wonder if she was Indian but she's got "long yellow hair"

Pancake it is then😂😂 now trying to think if I can get away making pancakes for dinner!!!

goldopals · 25/06/2019 04:09

No clue!

I remember a similar thread from years ago in chat.

Livedandlearned · 25/06/2019 04:10

Annika maybe, something like that. Pancake is pretty cute though

RageAgainstTheVendingMachine · 25/06/2019 04:13

Pankaya? It means lotus (sanskrit origin)
Pankita - it means one who is liberal (also sanskrit)

RebootYourEngine · 25/06/2019 04:20

Maybe she is actually called Pancake. You only have to read some.threads on here to know that parents name their children all sorts of things.

catgee · 25/06/2019 04:22

I have the same issue! My DS tells me he played with his friend Sticker all day. No idea who this is, I've gone through all the kids in his class and nothing comes close to this! He gets really cross with me because I don't know who he's talking about lol.

Soola · 25/06/2019 04:32

Anneka?

My son when he started school had a ‘Collie’ in his class whom I later discovered was Macauley!

PenelopeFlintstone · 25/06/2019 04:38

Maybe she's chosen that nickname for herself.

Sparklfairy · 25/06/2019 04:46

Do you think she could be an imaginary friend? Could be interesting at nursery pick up Grin

Durgasarrow · 25/06/2019 04:57

I know of a little boy named Cricket. Can this be real? I don't know.

squeekywheel · 25/06/2019 05:12

Ask the staff?

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 25/06/2019 05:28

I think you'll have to ask the staff, yes.
If they don't have the first idea then you'll have to get your little boy to show you who he means!

Zoflorabore · 25/06/2019 05:29

Pandora? Tuesday?

littlemissmoomoo · 25/06/2019 05:41

Well... you'll never believe this... but the name really is Pancake!!!! Seriously. I went through his nursery newsletters.

This is all I can do without including other surnames or the school name.

Although I think I'd prefer Pancake to Keith Confused

What is the name of my DS nursery friend?

TheBrilloPad · 25/06/2019 05:43

I'm basically hanging round for when you find out the answer Grin Usually nurseries have the kids names somewhere, on their pegs or something, can you try and look?

My DS used to love playing with his best friend "Santa". Took me bloody ages to figure out it was 'Xander'!

ThighsRelief · 25/06/2019 05:46

No way, that's a very free flow name. My son was friends with Leather, I asked her her name, she said Leather. I asked her mum, Olivia.

PenelopeFlintstone · 25/06/2019 05:47

Ha ha! I quite like it. Maybe she has another real name and has been Pancake since a baby so has Pancake as 'Preferred Name'. I do know another little girl like that.
My husband is known, and has always been known, by a normal man's name related to a famous character. That name doesn't appear anywhere on his birth certificate. Sounds strange but it's not when you know the full story which could be too outing so I can't tell you.

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 25/06/2019 05:47

Pancake.

PANCAKE.

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 25/06/2019 05:50

I’m more shocked at Keith!!

That’s your son isn’t it? Blush
