I’ve grown all my pubic hair back and I love it!

Sorry I know this is a weird post, but I’m 31 and have a full bush for the first time since I was 14, and I need to talk about it.
I started shaving pretty much as soon as I had hair, I was sexually active at 14, and despite a lot of professed feminism I had clearly internalised something about a need to remove my public hair. I’ve been bare or maybe the odd strip ever since 14.

A couple of weeks ago I somehow flicked the telly over onto Naked Attraction (what the hell is that show?!) and noticed a whole line up of totally pubicly bald women, and had such a strong reaction. We’re adult women! We’re meant to have hair! What was I doing? So I’ve left it all to grow back and honestly it feels so good. It’s all soft and nice and I feel weirdly sexy, how did I never realise before?

All women should absolutely do what they want with their own bodies and their own hair, I’ve argued long and hard for why I shaved, so please don’t take this as a judgement, but as an adult woman with my natural hair for the first time ever, I’m feeling so liberated and just wanted to share!

29 here and I've embraced the Bush. I love it, its soft, glossy and makes me feel womanly. I have been with my husband for 10 years. Ages 15-19 I felt compelled to shave because that was the 'done' thing amongst my peers. I have shaved the odd time during my 10 years with DH but I end up with a day of 'ah smooth' and then waking up to an itching hell. I much prefer my Bush. Never had any complaints from husband and if I did it would turn me off him massively. Pubic hair is such a natural thing, I wouldn't want him to feel disgusted by it. I did one time get my 4 year old who was sat in the bathroom while I was taking a bath state 'mummy, your tuppence beard scares me' which I thought was a little harsh since its not super out of control. I go through phases of fuck it and go full fluffy arm pit, legs and pubes. Went out the other day with my unmentionably hairy legs on show. Then I go on a hair stripping mission and proudly show off my hair free self to my fella. Then it's back to fuck it 😂😂

Oh dear.

NottonightJosepheen I'm not sure you understand the concept of passive aggressive.

No, I just found it rather a backward step from some of the very intelligent comments on this thread about why people choose to shave. Why would you be proud to show off your hair free self to your 'fella'? Where does pride come into it? It's not exactly an achievement. And doesn't it imply that shaving is, after all, to please men?

JacquesHammer · 18/06/2019 12:49

Surely it proves nothing more than it was for that poster?

I don't think that the description unmentionably hairy legs indicates a sense of pride. I think she was saying she doesn't shave when she can't be bothered which is fair enough.

Would she be proud to show off her hairy body to her lover? She doesn't say that but if she is, good for her. I was responding to what she said, not what she hasn't said.

I'm in my 40s and have had a few partners, not loads, and I wouldn't have thought that they showed 'pride' in their state of arousal but, again, each to their own. It's a bit In-Betweeners, isn't it, to marvel at your erection?

I'm 34 and never shave.

Hair vulva. Hairy legs. Hairy armpits.

Just cannot be arsed shaving. Don't see the point at all.

Only hair I get rid of is my upper lip hair because it's very dark and I don't like the way my foundation clings to it.

TheLittleDogLaughed · 18/06/2019 14:20

TBF, his is, indeed marvellous...

I'm delighted for you both.

And why wouldn't she be proud to show either her hairy or hair free body to her lover? I am. When I disrobe his jaw hits the floor and he is spell-bound, hairy vulva and all.

@NottonightJosephine totally with you on your recent comments (and somewhat envious of the above bit - it did make me Grin )

EntirelyAnonymised · 18/06/2019 17:36

His jaw hits the floor and he is spellbound when you get your kit off?

Cripes. What’ve you got under there, hypno-tits?

I love, fancy and adore DH but I neither of us are ‘spellbound’ by the others nakedness (as mutually attractive as it is).

BuildBuildings · 18/06/2019 17:46

Great. I'm too lazy to do anything with mine. I think bald is a bit too child like forme.

BaceFooked · 18/06/2019 18:07

I'm a lesbian and a bald fanny gives me the absolute creeps.

I couldn't be with a woman who waxed completely as it just looks like a child's vulva and I find it completely off putting and a mood killer.

JacquesHammer · 18/06/2019 18:47

There is no way a woman without pubic hair looks childlike. It’s just nonsense!

Soola · 18/06/2019 18:52

I’m in my fifties, it’s highly unlikely that my hair free nether regions could ever be mistaken as looking like a child’s!

NeverSayFreelance · 18/06/2019 19:07

I can't wax mine because of sensitive skin, so I trim it back with an electric razor. As a result it grows back within 48 hours meaning I go from all clean shaven to wild garden in two days 😂 I like to be shaven, but I don't mind leaving it bushy either. I just hate when it starts itching Blush

BaceFooked · 18/06/2019 19:18

It's just my view. It just looks wrong and I can't be intimate with someone who is bald down there. I just can't. Women have pubic hair as a sign of sexual maturity. Why would you wnat to remove it.

JacquesHammer · 18/06/2019 19:22

I lost it all through illness about 5 years ago.

BaceFooked · 18/06/2019 19:27

Then it wasn't a choice.

I wouldn't understand why you would choose to remove it.

I don't remove any of my hair. Anywhere. I don't see why I should have to.

JacquesHammer · 18/06/2019 19:28

I don't see why I should have to

Nobody has said you have to Confused

They have, however, objected to the tired old “childlike” trope.

I find it more comfortable.
