I’ve grown all my pubic hair back and I love it!

Sorry I know this is a weird post, but I’m 31 and have a full bush for the first time since I was 14, and I need to talk about it.
I started shaving pretty much as soon as I had hair, I was sexually active at 14, and despite a lot of professed feminism I had clearly internalised something about a need to remove my public hair. I’ve been bare or maybe the odd strip ever since 14.

A couple of weeks ago I somehow flicked the telly over onto Naked Attraction (what the hell is that show?!) and noticed a whole line up of totally pubicly bald women, and had such a strong reaction. We’re adult women! We’re meant to have hair! What was I doing? So I’ve left it all to grow back and honestly it feels so good. It’s all soft and nice and I feel weirdly sexy, how did I never realise before?

All women should absolutely do what they want with their own bodies and their own hair, I’ve argued long and hard for why I shaved, so please don’t take this as a judgement, but as an adult woman with my natural hair for the first time ever, I’m feeling so liberated and just wanted to share!

Be public and proud. That's what I say.

yellowgreenbluepurple · 14/06/2019 21:08

Bully for you.

BobbyBrewstersMagicTorch · 14/06/2019 21:09

I did just the opposite, and shaved all mine off for the first time recently. And it feels, and looks horrible! Can't wait for it all to grow back again.

Good on you OP!

Fluffa · 14/06/2019 21:09

Pubes make me itchy though Blush

PortiaCastis · 14/06/2019 21:10

Grin Grin @ public hair

thenightsky · 14/06/2019 21:11

Yeah. Hair good. I've shaved it all off half a dozen times in my 50 decades and every single time it stopped me peeing straight. Yep, the wee spreads itself out over my right buttock and under the toilet seat. Wet toilet seat, wet arse. No thanks.

Soola · 14/06/2019 21:11

How ironic that advert with your post is this ....

Personally I love having no hair at all down below!

I’ve grown all my pubic hair back and I love it!
Bluebluered · 14/06/2019 21:11

Thanks. I really needed to know that 🙄.

UnderPompeii · 14/06/2019 21:15

thenightsky I have a very strange mental image of your pubic (public) hair forming a sort of funnel shape. A bit like a she wee. HmmGrin

BuffaloCauliflower · 14/06/2019 21:19

Ha ha, I’ve asked HQ to change it to pubic. I have had some wine (this post is probably thanks to that) but honestly I just feel like a changed woman

I tried, but can't stand it

Coil · 14/06/2019 21:21

Yay. Happy for you Grin

Spudlet · 14/06/2019 21:22

Bit draughty though, having it out in public Grin

cheeseislife8 · 14/06/2019 21:22

I think public hair is going to be a MN thing now Grin

Dontgiveamonkeys1350 · 14/06/2019 21:25

Never have shaved. And never will. Any man that has a problem with it can quite frankly piss off.

LoafofSellotape · 14/06/2019 21:25

Good on you sista Wink

justbeniceplease · 14/06/2019 21:27

I think I should be proud of myself for being far too arse lazy to shave mine off in the first place. I'm over 40 and have never removed it - never had any impact on any of the many many people I have slept with!

MatchSetPoint · 14/06/2019 21:29

I haven’t got the time to shave ‘down there’ my DS2 aged 1 will only have a bath or shower with me so haven’t shaved since he was born, I don’t mind it but I always feel it’s not very nice or sexy and I think it’s puts my husband off. It’s actually really good to hear people’s opinions, makes me feel less crappy about myself! Thanks for the post!

PeachesAndMayo · 14/06/2019 21:29

My hub prefers hair. Doesn't like the little girl look. I like my hair too. It's there for a reason. Porn has made it fashionable to shave it all off but really that's just so the camera can see better. Honest. Celebs like it because they often wear mad stuff where a proper bush will peek out. And mags are so unforgiving....
Get your fuzz on and be proud. It'll fall out again when you get older.

CustardOmlet · 14/06/2019 21:29

I’ve been natural since I could see and reach past my baby bump - he’s 6. I do like to tidy the tops of my legs though.
