Game of Thrones - Who's dying at Winterfell? SPOILERS

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 17:26

So the big battle episode is next week...I am not ready! Who do you think is dying there? 2 episodes without any deaths, they must be gearing up for a bloodbath. DH and I have been discussing it a lot (nothing better to do with our extra day off!) and our list is:

Davos
Pod
Theon
Grey Worm or Missandei. I say Grey Worm, DH says Missandei.
Beric
Gendry

Also worried about Tormund, Brienne (which would break my heart!), and Jorah. Maybe even Bran, depending on exactly how connected he and the Night King are.

It feels like the rest all have a clear purpose moving forward and storylines that make sense beyond Winterfell so are probably safe for now. But I know how much this show likes to shock so I'm trying to prepare for every outcome!

To be fair anyone could die...I’m like 99% it will be grey worm for defo!

ApollO88 · 22/04/2019 17:39

First half hour of the episode just seemed to be Jamie Lannister days sorry to everyone. Individually. One after the other!

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 17:44

Oh I love Jaime, I could watch him walking around making heart eyes at Brienne for a whole hour Grin

I love the little love triangle that's going on with Jamie, Brienne and Tourmound!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 22/04/2019 17:51

Davos and/or Jorah, sadly . I love them both.

Brienne (saving Jaime), Theon (saving Sansa). I'll sob if Jaime dies.

My biggest concern is that it will be so bloody dark I won't be able to tell who is dead!

MockerstheFeManist · 22/04/2019 17:56

Do not forget that the dead can be undeaded, and the dead can be undead. But the undead cannot be undeaded, or not so far as we know so far.

user1469530553 · 22/04/2019 18:06

@starbuckssmartersister Yes! It’s so bloody dark isn’t it!

KenAdams · 22/04/2019 18:09

The darkness is doing my head in. I feel like I'm missing half the episode. Someone big will have to go but I can't bring myself to think who it will be Sad

itswinetime · 22/04/2019 18:09

I think we are going to see a big hitter go next week! Not sure who though possibly one of the starks Arya or bran? Would be my picks. I think the Lannister boys are safe for now Jamie's story ends with Cersei I think and Tyrion just had that sit down chat with Bran. Plus if they did her the whole Bron storyline is pointless.

Jon and Danny won't go anywhere till the end and I don't know why but I think Sansa is safe for now but everyone else is fair game at this point. We are half way through and all the big characters are still standing. This season will either be shocking because people survive or that changes after next week! I'm also hoping they haven't brought ghost back just to kill him!! That might be my biggest fear given that I hold out little hope for any of my favs making the end.

BMW6 · 22/04/2019 18:10

Davos
Jorah
Greyworm
Varys
Tormund

furrytoebean · 22/04/2019 18:12

I think the dead are going to break into the stark crypts and bring all dead starks back!

ApollO88 · 22/04/2019 18:13

Was anyone else shouting at the telly over ghost?! He was tiny! He's an albino dire wolf! Now a dwarfed sure wolf!

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 18:18

I'm hoping Varys lives purely because we've barely seen him this season and he feels too big to just be killed off.

Agree with @itswinetime about the Lannister boys, they both have unfinished business with Cersei and Bronn.

I'm worried for Brienne though. Never really had her on my risk list until the knighting, it feels like she might have concluded her arc there and might be in danger now. I'll cry if she's killed off, especially if it's while protecting Jaime. And I want a sex scene before either of them is killed off

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 18:18

I have Sansa as Queen at the end so I need her to stay alive!

OP posts:
ApollO88 · 22/04/2019 18:22

I definitely think Sansa was trying to get Danny to promise her Queen in the North

Myothercarisalsoshit · 22/04/2019 18:25

Where was the Night King? My guess is King’s Landing.

ContessaIsOnADietDammit · 22/04/2019 18:28

I think the dead are going to break into the stark crypts and bring all dead starks back!

I agree with this, but I also think the dead will burrow into the crypt directly and kill all the women/children in there, leaving them to proceed upwards and savage their men folk Sad

Lurkeycakewoman · 22/04/2019 18:33

Varys is going to be safe I feel like he will play a part in Danys downfall. He plays the game and plays it well is preserved him well enough up to now.
I think thormond podrick brianne greyworm ser jorah Jamie and ser Davos will die next week

NoShitHemlock · 22/04/2019 18:35

Greyworm is absolutely definitely going - serves him right for attempting to make plans!

I also think Brienne will die as she was just too happy this episode, and possibly Gilly and she makes Sam happy (which is blatantly not allowed....)

On a related note, is anyone else starting to hate Daenerys? I hope Sansa gets her Grin

ppppppickupapenguin · 22/04/2019 18:36

I don’t think the NK will be in KL.

We know the NK can raise the dead by raising his arms (hardhome), so, will he be able to raise the dead in WF crypts by the same method? Therefore not needing to actually get into WF to do it.
I know there’s a red wedding moment coming at some point and next week with the battle it may well happen. I’m so excited for next week and also dreading it at the same time Grin

ppppppickupapenguin · 22/04/2019 18:38

Yep, me too.

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 18:39

I think everyone in the crypts is in danger. They made too much of a point about the crypts being the safest place...they're going to turn out to be anything but! In the preview for next week as well, when Dany says "the dead are already here" I wonder if that could be referring to the crpyts.

OP posts:
PCohle · 22/04/2019 18:40

I agree about the crypts.

We heard way too much last episode
about how totally absolutely safe the crypts are. The crypts full of dead people...

I'm also not sure why they aren't panicking more about the night king's dragon. If it can bring down the wall presumably the walls of winterfell are toast. I think the writers will have to have some way for the NK and his dragon not to be there to make the battle even vaguely survivable for the men, so them going to KL seems plausible.

I also hate Daenerys now! But I think we're meant to.

ilovepinkgin33 · 22/04/2019 18:46

I think it's going to be an absolute massacre, no one is safe, then the lord of light is going to use the red woman to bring back certain people, I hope Jamie and Brianne stay alive long enough to have a bonk ....also Cersei dying would be super gratifying

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 18:56

DH asks if anyone else has seen the theory that The Hound will turn out to be the new Thoros style character, able to bring people back. After he was able to look into the flames and see visions in them earlier in the show. Good idea but not sure how realistic it is with only 4 episodes to go!
