Game of Thrones - Who's dying at Winterfell? SPOILERS

So the big battle episode is next week...I am not ready! Who do you think is dying there? 2 episodes without any deaths, they must be gearing up for a bloodbath. DH and I have been discussing it a lot (nothing better to do with our extra day off!) and our list is:

Davos
Pod
Theon
Grey Worm or Missandei. I say Grey Worm, DH says Missandei.
Beric
Gendry

Also worried about Tormund, Brienne (which would break my heart!), and Jorah. Maybe even Bran, depending on exactly how connected he and the Night King are.

It feels like the rest all have a clear purpose moving forward and storylines that make sense beyond Winterfell so are probably safe for now. But I know how much this show likes to shock so I'm trying to prepare for every outcome!

I'm strongly concinced that bran will warg into the dead dragon somehow. Just because I'm still upset about the bloody dragon.

My death list for next episode is
Brienne or Jamie (not both)
Grey worm (who I will be upset about because I love him)
Ser Jurah Mormont.

I hope Jon ends up killing Dani. I've always found her to be super annoying. But the ending will be that Arya is pregnant with Gendrys baby-a Baratheon heir...which would leave it hanging quite nicely.

I’m not convinced about the whole dead rising in the crypts thing. Nearly all of them have been dead for hundreds of years, they would be dust. Even Ned Stark is a sack full of boiled bones that was sent home from Kings Landing. None of them are going to be really effective fighters.
Will be really disappointed if the show goes that route, as it makes zero sense.

furrytoebean · 24/04/2019 13:11

But in the books Cat Stark is a kind of zombie so I wonder if they’re going to go down that route.

Cat hadn't had time to decompose though.

BearSoFair · 24/04/2019 15:36

Yep, I think Dany is going mad as well. But I did see a great theory that said Bran could have caused her Father's madness by warging into him while trying to find something out, potentially during the battle, so Aerys picks up on "burn them all" being shouted and becomes obsessed about it. Similar to how young Hodor could hear "hold the door" and how that affected him.

twattymctwatterson · 24/04/2019 16:01

The "Dany is mad" thing is a fake out - they're making it too obvious: Angry with Jon and with Tyrion. At odds with Sansa etc.

There's no way her story ends that way. I'm guessing that post battle, it'll be put to her that her and Jon ruling is the answer not only to the "next in line" issue but also to the problem with the North - plus she loves him.

LunaMay · 24/04/2019 16:04

If Jorah had to choose between saving Lyanna Mormont and Dany during battle, who do we think he'll choose?

furrytoebean · 24/04/2019 16:05

I don’t think Dany is going to go mad either, she’s actually been a good ruler and why should John be king? He has no interest in it.

PCohle · 24/04/2019 16:08

I don't think she'll go "mad" but I think Jon's claim to the throne will reveal that power is more important to her than love or the greater good.

BearSoFair · 24/04/2019 17:01

I think Jorah might sacrifice himself to save Lyanna, in a 'I've lived, you're the future of our house' way. I just don't want to think about Lyanna dying! She's such a great character even though she's not one of the mains.

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 24/04/2019 18:29

Thelastnigel if cersei, dany and arya are all pregnant it would leave things hanging even more nicely - basically back to square 1 in 20 years time.

yumyumpoppycat · 24/04/2019 18:35

I think Jorah would choose to save dany over family. I hope Lyanna survives though.

I think davos is nailed on to sacrifice himself to save a child - I hope they don't turn that little girl with the scarred cheek into a wight in front of davos.

MyOtherProfile · 24/04/2019 23:30

So long as the hound lives I don't mind what else happens.

SaborDeSoledad · 25/04/2019 08:07

My tuppenceworth:

Dany orders her dragons to kill Jon to remove his claim to the throne. The dragons recognise Jon as the true ruler and turn on Dany. Maybe not by burning her (as that won't work) but by throwing her off mid-flight.

HandsOffMyRights · 25/04/2019 09:17

The Prince who was promised (or is that Jon?) I'm easily confused....Shock

Ewitsahooman · 25/04/2019 09:34

I don't think Cersei is pregnant anymore, she was drinking wine after she slept with Euron and in the last season finale Tyrion knew she was pregnant when she didn't want wine because it's the only time she doesn't drink it. She looked like she was going to cry too when he said he was going to put a prince in her belly.

Arya won't be pregnant, she doesn't want babies and marriage.

BearSoFair · 25/04/2019 15:25

Davos is a goner for sure. DH thinks the exact same thing about the scarred girl becoming a wight. His office have actually done a sweepstake on who ends up on the throne, he's drawn Euron so I don't think he'll be in with a winner there Grin

Some one has made a handy chart to help predict looks like it matches most peoples predictions so far

Interestingly they were going to give Cersei a miscarriage in the season 7 finale but for some reason pulled it and didn’t.

I can’t stand Euron I hope he dies!

Prequelle · 25/04/2019 17:38

I thought cerc would die in childbirth.

Killed by her brother impregnating her

Still only 3 live kids born

So prophecy fulfilled

twattymctwatterson · 27/04/2019 23:19

I think Davos will live to the end actually. He's destined to be Hand like Stannis promised him before the Blackwater

RustyShackleford · 28/04/2019 05:07

I think Brienne will die saving Jaime. It was foreshadowed it season 2 when she was so dismissive of him and was all "pfft - who would ever want to die for a Lannister?".

She's totally going to die for him.

maddieharrison · 28/04/2019 05:39

I will be in floods if Tormund dies. He is absolutely my favourite character.
I think Pod, Sir Jorah, Beric and Brienne are certainties. Brienne is now a knight and I think that was the beginning of the end for her.

BearSoFair · 28/04/2019 10:17

I'll be devastated if Brienne dies, she's probably my overall favourite. Agree it really isn't looking very good for her though. I'm a bit more confident about Jaime, he needs to have a final meeting with Cersei.

I'm not sure I can handle the suspense today! DH and I both considering getting up to watch at 2am as it airs in the US but not sure we'd go back to sleep afterwards so will have to try our best to be patient...

OR Jaime dies protecting Brianne, proving he did love her...
