Game of Thrones - Who's dying at Winterfell? SPOILERS

BearSoFair · 22/04/2019 17:26

So the big battle episode is next week...I am not ready! Who do you think is dying there? 2 episodes without any deaths, they must be gearing up for a bloodbath. DH and I have been discussing it a lot (nothing better to do with our extra day off!) and our list is:

Davos
Pod
Theon
Grey Worm or Missandei. I say Grey Worm, DH says Missandei.
Beric
Gendry

Also worried about Tormund, Brienne (which would break my heart!), and Jorah. Maybe even Bran, depending on exactly how connected he and the Night King are.

It feels like the rest all have a clear purpose moving forward and storylines that make sense beyond Winterfell so are probably safe for now. But I know how much this show likes to shock so I'm trying to prepare for every outcome!

Yeah, I think time is an issue with a lot of the more mad theories floating around. When exactly are these plot twists going to happen?

GabrielleNelson · 22/04/2019 19:15

That little girl with the burn mark is a goner, I think. My hunch is that she had that burn so we'd recognise her again when she's reanimated. Sad

Gilly and little Sam? That would create a dreadful situation for Sam. I could see them doing that.

PCohle · 22/04/2019 19:32

I thought it was greyscale to remind him of Shireen Baratheon?

Greyscale is so infectious I don't think she'd have been mingling with the crowd.

ppppppickupapenguin · 22/04/2019 19:42

In the trailer for next week, Jon is seen without his armour, his stance reminded me of TBOTB when he was all alone in the middle of the field.

PCohle · 22/04/2019 19:49

I thought it was survivable by children and just left them scarred - just like Shireen was no longer infectious.

ppppppickupapenguin · 22/04/2019 19:53

Not sure but didn’t Stannis say that he called ever Maester he could and they managed to prevent it from spreading

PCohle · 22/04/2019 20:17

I didn't mean to derail the thread with a discussion of greyscale. It just seemed obvious to me that the little girl was meant to remind him of Shireen, whom he failed and who this little girl resembled so much. Most of the reviews I've seen had the same interpretation but fair enough if others didn't!

ChidiAnnaKendrick · 22/04/2019 20:22

Pod
Theon
Beric
Gendry
Jorah

saj90 · 22/04/2019 20:32

I found episode two and little boring...

Completely agree about the crypts. As long as Tyrion doesn't die I'm happy Grin

saj90 · 22/04/2019 20:33

*A little

TheFirstOHN · 22/04/2019 20:35

I think we will lose:

  • Grey Worm
  • Beric
  • Jorah

Also worried that we might lose:

  • Davis
  • Podrick
  • Gendry
  • At least one out of Brienne / Tormund / Jaime
TheFirstOHN · 22/04/2019 20:36

My biggest concern is that it will be so bloody dark I won't be able to tell who is dead!

Same.

DawgLover · 22/04/2019 20:37

I think Jorah, and sadly Lady Lyanna M.

Greyworm, Beric and either Pod or Brienne, potentially Gilly too

DawgLover · 22/04/2019 20:38

I need Tormund to live though, so he can have his own spin off Grin

TheFirstOHN · 22/04/2019 20:38

Davis = Davos (autocorrect)

WheelyCote · 22/04/2019 20:44

Greyworm and theo

Is Arya's dire wolf still alive?

WillGymForPizza · 22/04/2019 20:45

Please not Jorah or Davos! My Heart will shatter into a million pieces Sad However I accept they have done well to also until series eight.

I started hating Dany about two series ago BTW.

TheFirstOHN · 22/04/2019 20:45

Yes, Nymeria lives, but has gone her own way now.

WheelyCote · 22/04/2019 20:46

My youngest said that the Starks have whitewalker blood in them and that the iron on the starks crypts is to keep them dead but thinks theyll be freed in the big battle

WheelyCote · 22/04/2019 20:48

If that happens i reckon mother stark and big brother stark (forgot there names) returning will be a big shocker.

Shocked by Dannys response when jon told her they were related. More bothered that he had a right to the throne

TheFirstOHN · 22/04/2019 20:57

Well something bad is certainly going to be happening in that crypt, after they made such a big deal of it being the safest place to put the small children.

Snapespeare · 22/04/2019 21:13

The dead
Theon -that is his arc. Betrayal, degredation, restoration, redemption, destruction.
Sansa. BUT red-priested, because we were ROBBED of her mum being brought back.
GreyWolf because of 'lets go away from the UKIP North and be happy on the beach, my love' (possibly also Mrs GW, because they are the Tonks/Lupin of GoT)
Tyrion. Maybe not next week, but before the end. Too loved by fandom to survive.

Dany asks Jorah to kill Jon. Jon wins.

Figgygal · 22/04/2019 21:21

Grey worm definitely going down
I don't want anyone to die but feel like a lot of them will before the end
Almost don't want to watch

xsquared · 22/04/2019 21:30

@Wheelycote do you mean Catelyn and Robb (played by the lovely Richard Madden)?

Catelyn becomes Lady Stoneheart in the book iirc. I don't think Robb is buried in the crypt since the Freys beheaded him and Greywind, and paraded him with Greywind's head over his in the Red Wedding.

I loved the knighting of Ser Brienne, especially after Tormund said he'd knight her 50 times over, only for Jaime to knight her himself!

I don't want to say who is going to die, but I hope Cersei and Euron do not end up sitting pretty on the Iron Throne.
