Face hair. In tears and pic included

I'm sick of shaving

I'm sick of being 28 years old and having to shave twice a day

I'm aching. I have to wear inches of makeup to cover my stubble

I'm all bumpy and rashy, and disgusting

Can someone please just recommend the best Philips Lumea? Will it work? I'm confused at the entire range and my head is sore from trying to work out which will be the strongest for my mess of a face, neck, chin and sideburns

Thank you SadBlush

@DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen it's through the manufacturer, linky here:

100 day guarantee

I've just packaged mine up and sent it back to Boots not because it doesn't work (too early to tell) but because it's faulty, it keeps turning off for no reason. Fingers crossed for a speedy replacement Sad

💐 to the two MNers who sent the cream & PL.

I am SO glad you’ve seen a DR who has listened to you. I really hope you get it sorted.

I wish I lived near you and could see your Dr. I’m having different issues but I’m fed up of being fobbed off! Anyway, I don’t want to derail your thread.

Let us know how you get on 🌷

Get electrolysis in instead of a laser. It's permanent and is perfect for small areas like that.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/04/2019 14:17

Right,I'll order one.

Selectioner · 09/04/2019 14:20

Good luck DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen I had been hovering over the button for years.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen Your DH would be fine I'm sure. I said to DH I'd spent £400+ (we share finances), he asked what on and I said a laser thing to get rid of hair because I'd had enough. He shrugged and said 'Cool'.
I think we worry about these things far more than they do.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/04/2019 14:41

The money isn't an issue, I don't want to have to explain it to him and after 30 years together I think I'd like to keep some things private Wink I feel super sensitive about it.

Selectioner · 09/04/2019 15:11

Understandable. For anyone worrying just say you've had enough of shaving your legs. DH's don't need to know you're using it on your face too.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/04/2019 15:20

Ironically I hardly bother with my legs and dh doesn't mind at all but yes, that's a good way round it.

Selectioner · 10/04/2019 13:31

I did my legs a couple of days ago after shaving them. Usually they would need doing again, but they are still mostly smooth. It's had an effect already. I'm seriously impressed, |I wish I'd got it years ago.

ASauvignonADay · 10/04/2019 13:34

100% get one - they're amazing'

FerdinandsMightyTesticles · 10/04/2019 14:27

Well pits then Dame, for the summer :)

FlugIsAFlaskAndAMug · 10/04/2019 21:24

Noloudnoises · 11/04/2019 12:13

Be sure to take before and after pics @FlugIsAFlaskAndAMug I keep pouring over mine during my laser sessions and it's obsessive!

Good luck!

Selectioner · 11/04/2019 13:02

How did you get on with yours now it's been a few days FlugIsAFlaskAndAMug?

Chickaletta16 · 11/04/2019 13:06

Try to get the area threaded I do that myself on my chin hair. Also book an appointment for last it won't be too expensive on a single small area.

Ohyesiam · 11/04/2019 13:36

I don’t have any hormonal diagnosis ( maybe because I don’t do a lot of orthodox medicine), but I’m have very disordered hormones, withkiller pms. IPL has been the invaluable for me, and the results have lasted about 8 years so far.

FlugIsAFlaskAndAMug · 11/04/2019 15:07

@Chickaletta16 unfortunately I can't let the hair grow out

I actually think there's been an improvement

It says to use the Lumea every two weeks; will using it more often make any difference?

I'm (fingers crossed) sure there's been a slight reduction. The red rash has totally cleared up

I am hesitant to say I'll be fixed but I am feeling considerably better about everything 🙈

pudding21 · 11/04/2019 15:16

Ahh lovely updates on this thread, and high five to the mumsnetters who sent the lumea and cream

Stuckandsad · 11/04/2019 15:39

Love this thread Smile

It says to use the Lumea every two weeks; will using it more often make any difference?

It's so so tempting isn't it! I wanted to do it the next day and the next, but I don't want to fuck up any results so I'm going to stick with the 2 weeks. Also if using it more often would maybe cause a reaction it might hinder being able to use it. Not worth the risk.

Did you try it on your legs or anything?

I'm sure there's been a difference too. I'm so glad you're feeling a bit better about things, and thank you again for starting this thread Flowers
