That’s lovely Op 🤗. What do you think of Brit’s (a).

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/02/2019 19:55

(B) do you distinguish- as a nation - Irish, Scottish, Welsh. English? Are we all British or Uk?

Jamhandprints · 28/02/2019 19:58

I know Denmark has one of the happiest populations. Why do you think that is?

Iamdanish · 28/02/2019 19:58

Wow treading careful here 😄
Mostly that you are a very diverse society, with much bigger class issues than here. But also way more polite than we are.

Through, when we refer to you and your country we say England and English people. (But we generally do know the various parts of uk).

Jam I don't think we are happier than most. It's the parameters that make it seem that way. We are VERY equal and we have state payed schools, universities and health care. And extremely high taxes.

What do you think of your royals?

And what do you think of ours?

rosie39forever · 28/02/2019 20:11

Hi iamdanish, I absolutely love Volbeat, does everyone in Denmark love them too? 🇩🇰

SnuggyBuggy · 28/02/2019 20:12

Is the Danish Legoland worth a visit?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 28/02/2019 20:12

I think you sound lovely OP, and Denmark has a fab reputation here.

Tanaqui · 28/02/2019 20:13

I love your 7-11 stores. How do you feel about Sweden, particularly the bit just over the water from Copenhagen? Do the Danes really want it back?

Cuddlysnowleopard · 28/02/2019 20:18

I went to Copenhagen once, and went to a swimming pool (bit random, I suppose). I was completely caught unawares by the changing room etiquette - it was so much cleaner and more hygienic than the UK.

Have you ever been to a swimming pool in the UK?

HelmutFrontbut · 28/02/2019 20:21

How come some/most Danes speak perfect English?

Rhubarbisevil · 28/02/2019 20:23

Did you watch The Bridge and if so, who is your favourite character? Oh, what does “Tak” mean? Not “Täk” (I think that’s right - the word which translates into Thank you) - DH wrote Tak at the end of an email to a work colleague but the reply was “That does not say “Thank you”.”

Rhubarbisevil · 28/02/2019 20:25

The work colleague was Danish, by the way!

origamiunicorn · 28/02/2019 20:29

How do you all ride around on your bikes with no helmets and not seriously injure yourself, or die!

Iamdanish · 28/02/2019 20:31

Zebra. I'm not into the royals, I don't think they belong in a democracy.

Rosie Thank you of course Danes like Volbeat, but they are not that big 😀.

Snuggy I think it is a nice place. We went when dcs were younger 😁. But I don't know the uk one so can't compare. But if you go try and visit Givskud wildlife park, too.

Through well thank you. You are so nice 👋.

Could you send me a ton of that school chalk liquorice please Wink

HelmutFrontbut · 28/02/2019 20:32

I think tak means yes?

I've always wondered how Norwegians, Danish, Swedish and Finnish communicate. Do they learn each others languages or just use English? Sorry OP, I'm very ignorant!

MamaDane · 28/02/2019 20:33

Not OP but Tak definitely means thanks. Ä doesn't exist in Danish, but æ, ø and å do. Grin

pocketdelia · 28/02/2019 20:34

Do the Dane's feel the high taxes are worth it for the excellent services they get?

I've been to Cooenhagen in Winter, would it be good to visit in the summer (and possibly the beaches)?

Xx

pocketdelia · 28/02/2019 20:34

*copenhagen

Dogseggs · 28/02/2019 20:37

I love Denmark and have sometimes daydreamed of living there. What is the attitude to foreign residents? I've always felt very welcome as a visitor but I have got the feeling that there can be resentment to outsiders in some quarters.

Iamdanish · 28/02/2019 20:38

Tanaqui 😂 We haven't had Skåne as that bit of Sweden is called for centuries. But I live on the coast looking directly to Sweden, and we have OPINIONS of our neighbour's as well as they have of us 😂.
But yes I'm one of the few Danes that would love having Skåne, Halland, Blekinge and Hven back. But seriously it's more if a joke.

HollowTalk · 28/02/2019 20:41

Did you like The Bridge?!

kaytee87 · 28/02/2019 20:42

Through, when we refer to you and your country we say England and English people. (But we generally do know the various parts of uk).

Please don't do that. I'm sure you don't mean it but it's insulting and dismissive to Scottish, Welsh and northern Irish people.
