quintella It is a celebration of the lowest common denominator. Created in the small villages to make sure no one would think they could do better, were smarter you name it. Still in dk it is in effect if someone feels minor in anyway 🙁.

So so sorry - it really pi... Me off.

Iamdanish - Thanks for answering my questions, I have one more if you don't mind, which sport is more popular in Denmark, handball or football? I'm curious about that because the handball World Cup was held recently, and I know in Germany handball has trouble competing with football, so I'm curious if it's similar in Denmark.

AlexaShutUp · 28/02/2019 23:22

Can't really draw the biscuits. I think they may have been eaten mostly at Christmas, and if I remember correctly, the name began with a P.

Interesting observations re Brexit. I'm really interested in how the whole shit show is being perceived in other parts of Europe. I guess the division amongst our politicians is reflective of the divisions across the nation as a whole. We can't agree on what we want or on the right way forward.

Iamdanish · 28/02/2019 23:24

Joyfull Christiania, well most don't care, those who needs pot go there. A minority is fed up that they don't pay to the common good.

Theater we are quite laid back, you were lucky 😀.

Kronborg, some are proud, some mmh. But we do like our castles I think.

2828 re. Language well they don't know better, says more about them 😁.
Wouldn't understand a word Finnish, as I said I think I belongs to the Hungarian language tribe.

You're right about the little mermaid OP. She certainly is, well, little.

Iamdanish · 28/02/2019 23:32

Jan i would say football, but handball is big solely because we have a chance of winning. A few years ago even curling was biggish because one team won something 😂.

alexa this is really, really difficult we have a ton of Christmas bisquits eaten only that month 😁. Was it perhaps brune kager? They are dark brown and delicious or perhaps pleskner?
Top of the Pic is dark and light pleskner?
Really trying here 😁.

I was definitely expecting something bigger 😂

What is the average Dane’s position on climate change? You have a highly productive and intense dairy industry, which industry is now recognised globally as being a material contributor to global warming. What do you think?

LunaTheCat · 01/03/2019 06:17

I love Denmark. I have a few pieces Danish furniture which I love - would love more but is very expensive in the Southern Hemisphere. I would love a Louis Paulson light shade - maybe one day,
I really admire Danish society - the care of children and families and the good education and egalitarian ethics.
My favourite TV programme was Borgen - absolutely loved it!

Bananalanacake · 01/03/2019 07:56

Marmite is a black yeast extract you eat on toast. It has been banned in Denmark and I was wondering if you miss it. I live in Germany a 20 minute drive from Tonder.

MamaDane · 01/03/2019 08:00

banana You can find Marmite in plenty of supermarkets in Denmark. My British DP loves Marmite and it hasn't been a problem to find at all.

And the biscuits could also be Pebernødder? Alexa

Sorry for butting in OP 🙈 just can't help myself.

BluebellsareBlue · 01/03/2019 08:16

Do you know Brian Laudrup? I've been in love with him since I was 16. Can you ask him to marry me please? I'm 44 this year and have matured greatly from the 19 year old probationary cop who couldn't eat her fancy dinner and just stared at him, not talking at all, when I was sat next to him at the Rangers News player of the year awards on Glasgow 1995. Of course he will remember me WinkGrin

Loopytiles · 01/03/2019 09:11

I liked the little mermaid!

Loopytiles · 01/03/2019 09:12

And mmmmm, Danish biscuits. Especially ones with nuts.

As DC we had buttery shortbread ones in different shapes, in round tins with frilly paper things, not sure if Danish though!

Iamdanish · 01/03/2019 10:06

Al we like to think we are very climate aware, we are big in windmills, fiber insulation and sun panels. And you we live off the land.

Iamdanish · 01/03/2019 10:07

Well thank you Luna 😀. A lot of the old Danish design is quite expensive here, too.

Copenhagen is practically a bilingual city (Danish/English). At what age do you start learning foreign languages in Denmark and how come you don't have the complaints we get in the UK about some kids having special needs and being unable to cope with learning a foreign language?

Iamdanish · 01/03/2019 10:12

mamadane tak for hjælpen igen 😀.
Do feel free to help out. I have heard about the ban of marmite from others, always British. Never ever seen anything about a ban here 😀.

loopy probably was Danish short bread, we export loads.

Bluebells
😂 if I meet him, I will certainly contact him and tell him to marry Bluebells.

You know he has a very nice wife? Have eye rolled with/to her at restaurants when things went hey wire, when the dcs were younger 😁.

Can only imagine your dinner meeting, did you even manage to eat anything 🤣.

Are everyone's houses naturally full of hygge like we’re lead to believe?

DemelzaPoldarksshinerrefiner · 01/03/2019 10:34

Talk me through “burning the witch” at summer solstice - huge bonfire on the beach at Henne.
