It's not easy being human, is it? 😁
Atleast you are trying. Which queen yours or ours?

You must namechange to jyskeman 😀 we call it jyde.

Hvad skal jeg skifte mit navn til? IamnæstenDanish? Is that a good vending and shall we put it in the book for another afsnit?

Skal vi bare fortsætte på dansk og ser om mnhq lægger mærk til det?

Iamdanish · 02/03/2019 18:32

Redex 😂🤣
Årh det er et sjovt brugernavn 😂, ellers noget med mange åæø'er.

Think I'm in for a namechange soon, 'namechange001, 002 etc. Or do you think they have been used already 😂.

Better not get the wrath from mnhq 😏.

OP posts:
Upthepong · 03/03/2019 14:19

Hvad med 'navnskifter001'?

Iamdanish · 03/03/2019 19:05

Atleast that would be a new one 😁.

Bor du i DK og hvis du er fra UK, må jeg så spørge hvad du synes om os og landet 👋.

In short, nice but weird.
Harder to make friends, but so much less drama and anxiety.
Lots of sweet traditions like æresport and storks outside your house when you have a baby. Also mor barn buket. Fastelavn.
Cake is currency in the workplace.
Lots of Stylish lamps but no colour in homes.
The food has taken a lot of getting used to. Why has no one figured out that apple sauce is great with roast pork?!

Iamdanish · 03/03/2019 21:48

Thank you for answering. I recognize the nice but weird😀 seems we all feel that about thing we didn't grown up with. Unless it gets to horrid and weird 😁.

You must be in Southern Jutland with the stork tradition, we don't have it here, but i have heard of it.

You are quite right about cake. Don't like it much myself, hard when everybody expects you to socialize over it 🙄.

Apple sauce and pork?? Isn't that very sweet? Will try it tough 😀.

I was thinking of spending New year's at Tivoli gardens... would that be any fun.. with Dc

NewLevelsOfTiredness · 04/03/2019 08:15

Here's a question: in what universe did DR think it was a good idea to hold MGP on the same weekend as Fastelavn? My SD's behavior yesterday just because they were so tired... Shock

@Budsbegginingspringinsight... I think it would be lovely, but remember VERY warm clothing! It's very close to the city hall so you'd get the full experience of how crazy the fireworks are on NYE - they basically light up the entire city. :)

TanteRose · 04/03/2019 08:30

fun thread!

I've been watching the Netflix series Rita - its fab! just finished series 2
OP, is/was it popular in Denmark?

britnay · 04/03/2019 09:35

OP: What music do you like? I'm always looking for something new :)

Iamdanish · 04/03/2019 09:43

Buds agree with newlevels.

Newlevels 😁 to DR.

Tante i think the first series was quite popular, but I'm not very into dk series 😀.

Oh, I have to disappoint you. I'm into older music than myself 😁. Queen, rolling stones, ac/dc etc.

If you are asking for Danish music this piece is amazing:

Please listen, it is fantastic imo, very unlike the rest of their music 😀.

Oh and a Danish band called DAD.

britnay · 04/03/2019 10:42

LOL!
I got some of that, its a bit fast for me though. I think i got the just of it though :D

Hi! I am going out of my mind googling where to go in the summer for a few days after we've been to Legoland and Lalandia - want a nice family beach area which is 2-3 hours max from Billund but nothing obvious is coming up - possibly Blokhaus? Help!

Iamdanish · 04/03/2019 20:02

Theway
Try this perhaps you can Google translate it

www.visitbillund.dk/billund/ud-bade

But every small city near the coast will probable be an option, most beaches are nice.

www.visitlillebaelt.com/ln-int/middelfart-fredericia/tourist

If you want to be near the north sea

www.blavandstrand.dk/oplevelser/naturen/strande/
Google translate again. But you can get the names of nice beaches.

Hope this is of use.

Hope you have a nice holiday and do try and visit Givskud wildlife park 😀.

Thanks Iamdanish!

Upthepong · 05/03/2019 08:56

I'm going to chip in with some suggestions TheWayOfTheWorld Have a look at Fanø, a little island off the west coast. It's a twenty minute ferry ride from the mainland and about an hour from Billund in the car to the ferry terminal. Fabulous beaches. See here visitfanoe.dk/en/home/
If you are in Billund then you might consider visiting Jelling where there is an excellent Viking museum (free). There are burial mounds, a longship burial and Denmark's first church built by Harold Blaatand (Bluetooth). See here: en.natmus.dk/museums-and-palaces/kongernes-jelling-home-of-the-viking-kings/

Both places are UNESCO world heritage sites. Plus Givskud Zoo is a must, as Iamdanish recommends.

My recommendation for a nice danish song would be

Iamdanish · 05/03/2019 10:21

Upthepong

Yes to Fanø, very touristy 😀
Not sure I agree with Jelling with young kids, but it is located in very pretty surroundings.

Grenadines 👍.

Good point about age of kids, Iamdanish. My children liked it from 6ish years onwards, but they are bloodthirsty and Viking obsessed Grin
