Inspired by a thread about hygiene - carpets in kitchens and toilets, I thought it could be interesting to recall some of the diabolical tat from the past.

Bloody hell, every single thing here (except the Bay City Rollers) was in my Nans house at some point in the 70s or 80s!
She also had a radiogram - who needs an iphone? Media device convergence 60s style!

I haven't seen carpet in the kitchen but a few people I know have rugs in the middle of their kitchens. Surely that's just an unhygienic.

I've also recently bought some 60's/70's red Pyrex and we are on the lookout for a retro sideboard

I have a 1970s cocktail cabinet, with glass lined cupboard that would light up if I put a new plug on it. My inheritance from FIL - it is amazingly tacky and I love it.

Macrame and hanging plants, drinks trolleys, vintage pineapple cocktail items (not new plastic ones), cheese plants (now called Monstera) - all super cool

My SIL loves her hostess trolley 😁 gets used weekly.

DM had a hostess trolley, came in handy at Christmas. There was also a radiogram, the turntable had four speeds: 16, 33, 45 and 78 rpm.

I have a teasmade. It's one of my favourite possessions.
I want a cocktail cabinet and a load of pineapple cocktail paraphernalia to go on it.
And I wore kickers in the 90s, I loved them.
I wouldn't mind having a coloured bathroom either.

I remember our kitchen growing up, it was covered in pine planks. It looked like a shit 70s porno Swedish sauna film set.

Actually the wallabees must have been ‘88-89 as in 1990 I was wearing fuck off massive LA Gear trainers, they had about 3 pairs of laces woven and stunk to high heaven- I was a slave to fashion back then.... now I don’t really give a crap what I wear!

Apologies if they've been mentioned but avocado bathroom suites were huge. Dh and I had one in our first house

Light blue bathroom suite with orange tiles anyone? I miss that soda siphon and Grandma had so much of this including the radiogram, the siphon, the stone lighter (no-one smoked!) and the foul toilet roll cover. She also had a terrarium (sp) and a wooden floor standing cake stand that got passed around on a Sunday high tea

All the best avocado bathrooms had chicken tiles.
