Inspired by a thread about hygiene - carpets in kitchens and toilets, I thought it could be interesting to recall some of the diabolical tat from the past.

My first boyfriend had this very jumper which he wore TUCKED INTO a pair of baggy snow washed jeans. It was his easy, sartorial chic that drew me to him.

We had shag pile on the landing when we moved in our house five years ago. After cleaning up baked beans vomit (thanks Ds) at 1am from it I ripped it up🤮

WhatsInAnotherNameChange · 18/08/2018 19:41

Shrinkles!

There was a boxed activity set that did similar.

Colour in the black and white line drawings, baked them in the oven and voilà!

Plastic toot!

Can't Penelope. I'm like a dog with a bone sometimes. 😀

TornFromTheInside · 18/08/2018 19:48

Still looking for your jacket GlassOfRed!

Did you say it had nipple tassels and came with fishnets?

I might be on the wrong website otherwise.

Think you might well be on the wrong website as I don't recall gimp masks being mentioned either?

TornFromTheInside · 18/08/2018 20:18

The only way you can know about my gimp mask is if that's you Mistress PervyPenelopeOfPeterborough

I was always jealous of people with these. I wanted to label so much!

My grandad had one of those. Sometimes I got a go on it. Good times.

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/08/2018 20:33

I had one of those. My transistor radio had my name on it.

TornFromTheInside · 18/08/2018 20:34

Sony, is that you? ;-)

PerfectlySymmetricalButtocks · 18/08/2018 20:35

No, it's Phillips, actually.

TornFromTheInside · 18/08/2018 20:37

If I remember correctly they were initially only black tape and the letting turned white (grey) from stressing the plastic with the relevant letter - but they brought out other coloured tape afterwards - red and blue (from memory).

I used to have tonnes of musician gear and a serious need for labelling, but I never had one! I think I still want one for nostalgia's sake (not a fancy modern one)
