My son’s home from school with a fever. He's fine, just laying about.
You ask, I’ll ask, he’ll answer. Together we’ll tackle the big questions of the universe with the wisdom of a 5-year-old who’s been outsmarting me since he could talk. AMA (Ask My Apprentice).

To turn invisible
To have unlimited Minecraft
To have unlimited mummy's
Love my mum's
Have them love me too

Disclaimer - I love him endlessly. It's more an obsession at this point. He's incredible

Which is the best dinosaur?

Pachycephalosaurus!

Lentilcakes · 17/09/2025 11:40

What's your favourite book (haven't read all the questions so if this has been answered already - sorry!)?
Do they still do Biff and Chip in school?

Soitis83 · 17/09/2025 11:41

PinkFlloyd · 17/09/2025 11:38

Your DS is delightful.
Not sure you'd want to ask this one, but here goes...
Would you like a sister?

Yes please

No thank you

I did! I said you choose! Biff and chip? Err yes? Do I? Wait are they like people?

Soitis83 · 17/09/2025 11:43

Okay so he's decided he's well enough to have lunch now (he wasn't feeling well enough for breakfast). So I'm going to make him some soup. We'll be back

Haha this thread is brilliant!

Hope he enjoys his lunch!

Ah, yes my children had You Choose when they were young, great book!

Biff and Chip are books schools use to teach reading, they did over 15 years ago anyway when my children were in Reception/Year 1. What books do they use to teach reading at your school?

lastapache · 17/09/2025 11:50

This is actually my favourite Mumsnet thread ever.

My question: If you had to be an animal for the day, what animal would you be?

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 17/09/2025 11:57

Do you like Lankybox or Rainbow Friends? What about Taco Tuesday in Brainrot? (My 7 year old son loves these, so I am guessing it might be something you know!)

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 17/09/2025 11:58

What's your favourite food? And if you could have any dinner you wanted, what would you eat?

ForeverDelayedEpiphany · 17/09/2025 12:00

Are the Minecraft Zombies easy to kill? And if you want to catch a pig to have as a pet in Minecraft, is it easy to catch?

RedToothBrush · 17/09/2025 12:02

Daddy Mummy or Chips?

HelpMeUnpickThis · 17/09/2025 12:03

DappledThings · 17/09/2025 10:02

Do you know that the correct word is lying not laying and do you agree it would he helpful for you to learn this now?

@DappledThings gosh you are pathetic.

HelpMeUnpickThis · 17/09/2025 12:04

@Soitis83

What are the things you don't like at school?

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

Hope you feel better soon.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 17/09/2025 12:06

Do you think ‘willyballs’ is a very good name for testicles, when you can’t remember the proper word? Or even that it’s a better name anyway?

PinkArt · 17/09/2025 12:07

God I love that you can hear this thread!

What flavour soup did you have and was it good? My favorite when I'm poorly is Heinz tomato soup.

martinisforeveryone · 17/09/2025 12:10

@Soitis83 I hope the soup hits the right spot and that everyone who's under the weather feels better quickly.

When my DCs were off school, we'd often make a play tent with cushions on the living room floor and a sheet or duvet draped over chairs or the clothes airer. My DGCs have tepees but I don't think they're as much fun.

Spookyspaghetti · 17/09/2025 12:12

DappledThings · 17/09/2025 10:05

I do. At 5 you should be keen to get things right.

No need to spoil it for everyone 🧐

Catwalking · 17/09/2025 12:12

Do you believe in ghosts, if yes what actually are they?

Makingpeace · 17/09/2025 12:14

@Soitis83

What is your third favourite dinosaur?

HectorPlasm · 17/09/2025 12:24

Where are you most ticklish?

Edit - supplementary question - have I spelt that right?!

Soitis83 · 17/09/2025 12:24

There's some that are like purple and then you read them with the teacher
