Since poor spelling/ thinking a word is spelled differently is apparently the very worst thing ever....

You're not alone, my son has had 'rest bite' and also cahms involvement at one time too..... I was a librarian before having to give up work. The ability to spell and grace clearly aren't linked.

That was my thought.

Rest-Bite would be an ace name for a chain of service station restaurants, like Little Chef or Happy Eater, but better quality and with sofas.

I work in social care and plenty of professionals persist in calling it rest bite too.

I admit it drives me nuts, but point is you're not alone!

The only person who should be embarrassed is the idiot who came up with "respite" in the first place. "Rest-bite" sounds much more logical and relaxing. I'm switching to it. Also interested in other vocab improvements you may have to share.

Where I’m from respite and rest bite sound near identical, I can see why people make the mistake.
