My 4 year old has declared that he knows everything. Ask him anything and he will bestow on you his wisdom and knowledge.

Should I do the washing up even though I've broken my wrist?
(No-one else to do it for me)

brandonflowersmushtash · 18/11/2023 17:54

What do you want for Christmas this year?

iknoweverythingbecauseiam4 · 18/11/2023 17:55

We’ve just arrived home from our journey and my boy is pretty tired from knowing so much.

I’ve so enjoyed interviewing my clever guy today. Thank you all so much for your questions. I’ll print this thread off and keep it forever.

Gosh I love him so much

In the lord of the rings, why did they not just give the ring to Tom Bombadil for safe keeping?

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/11/2023 18:05

I nominated this lovely thread for Classics and I'm delighted to see that @BeckyAMumsnet has turned up to investigate.

One last question for the Lovely Boy:
Will MNHQ put this thread in the special Classics section so that people can read his thoughts for ever and ever?

Doris86 · 18/11/2023 18:11

What are the winning lottery numbers going to be tonight?

coastergirl · 18/11/2023 18:19

This is adorable, and also it blows my mind that he knows so much! My 4.5 year old would have very different answers (although I'm fairly convinced that the inside of his head looks like some sort of psychedelic, drug-fuelled rave party. He's completely bonkers)

chatelai · 18/11/2023 18:20

Tell your clever boy from me that he is very, very wise.

The grand council of dinosaurs have been informed of his skilful answers, and have made him an honorary Doctor of Dinosaurs and Wisdom. (PhDiWiz).

This is 100% true.

I have loved reading your lovely boy's answers. I am glad you are going to print and keep the thread. Remember to take it out and read it when he is a teenager and still knows it all but is probably not quite so cute.. 😍

Bloobloo · 18/11/2023 18:26

Would you rather have a shark head 🦈 or octopus legs? 🐙

Ellmau · 18/11/2023 18:33

He sounds adorable.

Fabulous, get him to do the next AMA 😃

Well done IP and op's little man.
I was wondering how you could keep this thread so he could see it when he's older. Printing off is a great idea.
You have a lovely caring little boy OP. He's a treasurem

IrresponsiblyCertainAboutSexualDimorphism · 18/11/2023 18:48

Classics, surely? Awesome OP, and thank you to OP’s small boy for all the wisdom.

Ohhhhh OP you have done a FANTASTIC job raising this delightful little chap.
Thank you for this beautiful thread.

How many MN ladies are a bit in love with him?? (That's rhetorical! Doesn't have to answer!)

swimsong · 18/11/2023 19:15

I'm not crying, not really.
{😭}

stayathomer · 18/11/2023 19:20

Tell your 4 yo he is amazing and happy November (and Christmas!!)

iknoweverythingbecauseiam4 · 18/11/2023 19:27

He is very curious about the world and, I think, a very kind and thoughtful young man. I'm very proud of him.

I've been having a bit of a hard time recently with a baby who doesn't sleep and huge feelings of guilt that I'm not being a great mum to either of them. Having so many interesting conversations with my boy today has given me so much joy.

Thank you everyone for being part of what will be a forever memory for us. To the person upthread who asked if mumsnet is a force of good or evil, I'll answer that one: it's very much a force of good.

It is news to me that he knows willies have anything to do with making babies. His preoccupation with robbers, and thinking that hoovering would be easier than napping made me laugh. Oh what a joy and privilege it is to be a parent.

AllWeWantToDo · 18/11/2023 19:35

He sounds adorable, it's a lovely age. My boys are adults now and pre teens (not always so adorable) I have a 4 year old grandson though and he sounds similar to your boy

@iknoweverythingbecauseiam4 ypu sound like a lovely mum, he obviously loves you and his dad and sister very much . I remember the not sleeping baby days very well, it does get better !
