How many days do you work yourself on weeks you are working?

Are you planning to stay in fish and chips til retirement?

Do you mean because some people are vegetarian or in other ways? The nearest seed oil free fish and chips I've found is an hour away 😔.

The customers are generally lovely, we’re quite flexible as we have a manger and can pick and choose working hours

Yes it means that we can’t say the chips are veggie

Yes there is!!! They are a southern thing. I love near London now and never found a chippy to sell them since 😭

Is there any cornstarch or maize starch in anything you sell? DH is intolerant but often doesn’t ask (he says he forgets but I think he just doesn’t like drawing attention to himself) and then gets an upset stomach if he accidentally has it.

What variety of potato do you use and has anyone famous been in your chippy?

What's with the shaky back and forth scoop maneuver when portioning the chips?! Every chippy does it!

Changes constantly - depends on availability. And yes loads

Do you smell greasy?

Do you just do traditional chippy things (chips, fish, sausage, pie etc) or do you do Chinese, kebabs, pizza, burgers and so on too? I’m from Birmingham originally and our chippy’s were just that but where I live now they do everything. I find it so strange.

When I was little there used to be the potato scallop. Slice of potato battered..they were yummy but I never see them.now. have you heard of them?

They have them in all the chippys where I’m from (Liverpool). And I often get a portion instead of chips

Chippy staple in Wales where I grew up, I was looked at like I had two heads when I asked for one in England!
