Go you @Lotsofbabies6! I know someone with 8 children and I think its great.
I would love 4-6 kids😅
If you can financially afford it then why not?!

Thank you! 8 would be great 😍 but it's not going to happen so we have a puppy instead!

Oh wow. Good luck with ttc! Only a little bit jealous 🤣 exactly. I don't really do much else at the moment apart from be a mum. Some people would hate that, but it's all I know really!

What's your temperament, are you an extrovert and generally cheerful? I always think if I had tons of children I'd find it too much social interaction due to being introverted.

LuckySantangelo35 · 22/10/2022 10:54

@Lotsofbabies6

how did you cope with so many pregnancy’s?

DucklingDaisy · 22/10/2022 10:55

Well done for juggling it all! Do you find it hard to plan activities and days out that suit everyone, given the age range?

If you don’t ever fly I bet your carbon footprint is smaller than a lot of the judgeypants repliers. Also, population collapse meaning an unsustainably ageing population is the actual looming demographic thread. We don’t need fewer people, we need people to live in more sustainable ways. Such as by limiting or stopping flights!

DucklingDaisy · 22/10/2022 10:56

Oh, one more question: what is birth like after already doing it several times? My second came really fast so I dread to think how it would be at 6.

I am a complete introvert, but I suppose you don't really know yourself until you're into your 20s, do you? And most of my 20s were spent in a permanent state of anxiety, not getting to know who I was 😂 Sertraline helps, but sometimes it does get too much, and I have to tell DH or the older ones that I need a bit of a break from all the questions and noise and "can I show you this cartwheel?!"

FAB XX Though I might have the genders and the race wrong.

I'm a mum of 6. AMA.

All of mine have been fast, but still very painful. I've never had time for anything other than a bit of gas and air at the end. Three were born at home.

Playing days out is actually killing me at the minute! I feel like I can't please everyone. And thank you x

No question just sending some 💖. From what you said you have made so many positive changes over the years and try to make time for all your kids and they are all very much loved! I have 3 children who are 6 and under and I can't even imagine how tired you must feel at the end of the day 😂. I hope you have a lovely day and a warm cup of tea 😊

Thefaceofboe · 22/10/2022 11:00

Wow 6 children and you bake for a living, superwomen. I could handle the kids but don’t ask me to bake a cake 🤣

Is birth harder / easier the more you have?

1AngelicFruitCake · 22/10/2022 11:01

Do they do any clubs? Have friends around?
How do you afford birthdays, Christmas and the summer holidays?
How tidy is your house?

My best pal growing up is one of 13

Imagine Mumsnet we're to get hold of her mum.

Irish catholic, lovely woman, warm happy home (albeit squashed) with a hard working dad who adored them all.

By the time my pal was born some had already married and moved out and she was an aunt by the time she was one.

And as far as I could see her dad had one rule. To be allowed his chair 🪑 by the fire when he got home from work.

He made brilliant sunday fry-ups for all his family & any pals/boyfriends/girlfriends that were hanging about - I was often one of them & he liked giving his wife a Sunday lie-in.

They are still an incredibly close &'supportive family.

I'm one of 6 and my dad was one of 11 (tho he was an arse)

Mumsnet would have had her tarred and feathered.

Cultural and religious tradition are largely not respected as far as I can see.

If you're not white, 2 kids both working, no cleaners, no nannies (no stepmums ) then out come the knives.

I doubt it.
Having 6 children would be my idea of a nightmare - the drudgery of cooking, cleaning, washing, school runs etc etc is not for me. Although, I agree that some of the comments are unnecessary.

WonderingWanda · 22/10/2022 11:05

Do you manage time for yourself? I've only got two and I'm struggling.

Tabbouleh · 22/10/2022 11:06

Why does everyone always think that women who have stopped at 1 or 2 are jealous of those with bigger families? Shows a terrible lack of imagination.

What an awful question when OP has said there was sexual abuse involved. Why would you ask that?

IneedcoffeeinanIV · 22/10/2022 11:07

I absolutely love that you manage 6 children, being a stay at home Mum AND bake. Sounds like a dream! You sound like you're doing a fab job 💕
