That's it, really. I'll answer if I find any time 😅

Two don't need me to do that, they read to themselves.

Two do it while I'm making dinner.

And DH will read with the babies when they're going to bed.

Do you have a job?
Do the dads or dad provide income and support?

I have a small business.
Ex husband has a deduction of earnings order put on him as he refused to pay.

Are you a SAHM?
Is your husband a very involved parent?
I'm guessing income isn't a problem.

Jesus Christ some of these replies. It’s AMA not slag off the OP with snide comments. I know a woman with 6 kids, they are all by the same father. She works and has 6 kids because she adores being a mother and her children are really happy and thriving.

how many different fathers are involved?

Teenage boyfriend
Abusive ex husband
Current husband

How do you find balancing? Do some spend time with their fathers?

Yes SAHM. Income is okay. We manage fine at the minute. My husband is very involved

Do you find the girls harder work than the boy 🤔
I've got two girls and I'd probably rock in a corner if I had five of the little monsters 🤣

FourTeaFallOut · 22/10/2022 10:00

How does your house differ compared to when you only had three children? Do you all fit around your dinner table? How many kgs is your washing machine? What kind of car/van do you drive? Do you have a stricter schedule to make the logistics of so many kids work?

Honestly - I have always loved the idea of a bigger -need a bell to call everyone for dinner - sized family but hit my upper limit with three.

That's good. If you have no money worries and you don't have to go out to work, that must make things easier.
Still a lot to wrangle!

In this case it's not completely by choice and there has been some abuse.

AnApparitionQuipped · 22/10/2022 10:06

Hi OP. What are the dynamics within the group of siblings - do they form sub-groups or pairings?

I found that young children were relatively inexpensive, but a completely different story once they hit their teens, do you worry about how things will be financially when you have a tribe of teenagers?

ButterflyBiscuit · 22/10/2022 10:10

Do they share bedrooms? How does it work? How many are from your current husband?

How have the older children found having 3 different dads/you being abused -have they had support?

Are you happy with your current husband? Have you had any trauma therapy/similar it sounds like you've been through a lot x

Cuppasoupmonster · 22/10/2022 10:12

You won’t get any nice responses here OP. MN is allergic to anyone with more than 2 kids or less than 2 kids. It’s hilarious if they really cared about the environment they wouldn’t have any, or 1 😂 but it’s always 2! Anyway enjoy your kids. Just be mindful of not putting your parenting responsibility onto the older ones (this happened to me), and that you’ll have to forge some kind of new identity outside of being a mum when you’ve had your last and they’re a bit older.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 22/10/2022 10:12

Well I’m envious, I’d have loved 5 or 6. We ended up stopping at 3 because DH said no to more, but I’d have loved a couple more.

good luck op, you sound a great mum doing her best.

SpinningFloppa · 22/10/2022 10:13

Mumsnet hates big families so all you will get is vile comments as I can see already. I was one of 6 and even worse my mum was a single parent 😱

Maireas · 22/10/2022 10:14

To be fair, @Cuppasoupmonster , she started an Ask Me Anything thread.
Plus, not all the replies have been horrible.

That's rude. She says they were unplanned, not unwelcome or unwanted.

MrsSkylerWhite · 22/10/2022 10:15

Bit confused: you have a small business and are a SAHM? How does that work?

MLMs probably?

Endlesslysurprised84 · 22/10/2022 10:16

How many bedrooms do you have?

Skinnermarink · 22/10/2022 10:18

Do you ever all get to go holiday?
