How do you care for your feet?
I struggle at 10 stone lighter.

Have you considered bariatric surgery?

MizMoonshine · 03/05/2021 20:08

You seem to be stuck in the same shit cycle as me.
Want a diet buddy? I don't have as much weight as you to lose to get to my target BMI but I do have the same issues! Support groups can really help.

roguetomato · 03/05/2021 20:09

Wow, lovely. Hope you find your peace.

BentBabyBastard · 03/05/2021 20:09

@TunstallTansy

How do you afford all the takeaway food?
Maybe she earns a fortune? Are you assuming because she's fat she's professionally unsuccessful. I could afford - on a teacher/nurse type wage - takeaways every night if I wanted to.
Thomasina2021 · 03/05/2021 20:09

Have you ever considered trying a ketogenic diet ?

RainbowBriteUk · 03/05/2021 20:09

@altlife Yes, I have been on so many diets. I am an expert in nutrition! Well, not quite but I do know quite a bit! I have all the tools and resources, just very little willpower.

Day-to-day it affects endometriosis (sends my hormones wild). It affects my confidence. I love fashion but never feel that I look good enough. Also affects my health in other ways too. Oh and travelling on a plane. I fit in the seat fine but often have to ask for an extending belt which is embarrassing and theme parks are totally off-limits. I can fit on most rides but got told to leave one once because the harness didn't come down over me.

TunstallTansy · 03/05/2021 20:10

@BentBabyBastard no I wasn't, I was asking a question.

Straysocks · 03/05/2021 20:10

Don't have a question but your answers all say that you really want to change direction. I truly and sincerely hope you find whatever's it is you need to be able to do that and wish you all the luck

Pebbledashery · 03/05/2021 20:10

Do you feel judged when you go to a restaurant?

3AndStopping · 03/05/2021 20:10

They say over eating is a form of self abuse, I think I resonate with this.

Crippling self awareness & self loathing or overly
Critical of yourself can = over eating (almost punishing yourself.)

I hope you love yourself OP! People have weighed more & lost it... hear of it all the time. Not saying it’s easy, but it’s not impossible. All the best to you Flowers

nellly · 03/05/2021 20:10

I think it's a really interesting thread, thank you for being so honest. An increasing amount of our population is obese/larger and it's interesting to hear the answers from your perspective

RainbowBriteUk · 03/05/2021 20:10

Oh, and I have no children. The weight is affecting my fertility.

SnarkyBag · 03/05/2021 20:11

@roguetomato

Why are you doing this? Do you want sympathy? I don't get the purpose of this thread at all.
Why does it need a purpose? Or are you just trying find an angle to take a pop at the OP? AIBU is that way ➡️
RainbowBriteUk · 03/05/2021 20:12

@babbaloushka I was a normal size as a child until I was around 16ish. Then put on a bit of weight but nothing massive. Wasn't until my early thirties I started to balloon.

OP posts:
Iwantanap · 03/05/2021 20:12

You mentioned the impact on your fertility. Is that something that concerns you much?

Atalune · 03/05/2021 20:12

Can you answer my question please?

can you cook?

RainbowBriteUk · 03/05/2021 20:13

@EnglishRain I am so sorry for the loss of your brother Sad My thoughts are with you.

I don't ever get it checked, just blood pressure but I will from now on.

OP posts:
RainbowBriteUk · 03/05/2021 20:13

@Atalune Wait your turn!

OP posts:
Pursefirst · 03/05/2021 20:14

Sorry if this has been asked already OP (my wifi is playing up so I can only read your comments) but would you consider bariatric surgery? I truly don't mean any offence.

SueSaid · 03/05/2021 20:16

'Morning: McDonalds breakfast (mcmuffin meal and 4 hash browns - OMG) and a pancake meal if I am WFH. If in the office I grab 2 pasties from Greggs. Disgusting, I know. The other day I had two pasties, a bag of crisps and a mini cake loaf. Lunchtime: Can be anything from pasta to sausage and chips to McDonald's again if WFH. Office is usually a chicken salad or a healthy vegan burrito and yoghurt. Tea: Takeaway very regularly, which consists of a curry, rice, samosas, lamb chops. It's a lot. Another tea can be baked potato with lashings of coleslaw and cheese. Another favourite is sausage, mash and lots of gravy.'

Why do you eat so much are you genuinely that hungry?

This won't be what you want to hear but stop having McDonald's for breakfast and try overnight oats instead. For a start.

To show we’re human. That were well aware of our failings. That we don’t miss out on everything. That yes we’re miserable but can find happiness too. That we want to change but it’s not easy. That we know what we need to do. That were not thick/stupid/uneducated. That, although there is a correlation between class and weight, anyone can have weight issues for any reason. That we not gopping monsters and want the same things as everyone else. To live, to not be the butt of the joke, to not have GPs dismiss us when we have real health issues, that we are pretty strong just really tired all the time - by strong I don’t mean athletic we’re carrying an extra 10 stone every single day. It’s putting strain on us yes but look at my thighs & calves, those muscles are epic and are built from endurance.

I was 19.7stone. I’m now 16.7 stone.

OP you can get out of this rut and make the changes you want to make. It’s going to be the easiest thing you do, once you get past the hardest part of battling with your self 💕

Joeblack066 · 03/05/2021 20:19

@RainbowBriteUk your BMI would be 27 at 12st and 5’6” not 22.

thecatneuterer · 03/05/2021 20:20

I have a slightly odd question - it's something I've occasionally wondered.

When you dream (assuming it's a lucid enough dream and you remember it), if in your dream you are aware of your body, are you generally aware of being fat or are you 'normal sized' in dreams?
