There are so many misconceptions.

My neighbour just died a few weeks ago
52 years old and a functional crack head

when I say functional you wouldn’t know to look at him or speak to him
had a house a car a few years ago went to university and got a degree .

but he was always in the local papers in the court section for drug related crimes
He would be clean for a while then start on it again .

He broke into a neighbours house when on holiday a few years ago and got caught Ed not everybody in the house went away

so was pretty isolated by neighbours

I’m sorry but anyone who is stupid enough to take a drug named after your ass crack is well I won’t say what I think - I would get banned

Every person that I know that have been long term crack / heroin users have died pretty young .

I don’t know any crack / heroin users over the age of 60
All the ones that I knew off died of heart attacks in there mid 40s - early 50s most of them were pretty functioning most of the time

Addiction made sense to me when someone explained it as a way of distracting yourself from how you feel inside. A distraction form the uncomfortable feeling of being alone with your thoughts. Food, sex, alcohol etc all the same addiction, self medication.
