I have been Psychic since childhood but did not really understand it. I did not have much support so tried to ignore it and not let it get to me. My mother is also one but she doesn't really admit to it, but growing up she would predict events that would happen.
I developed my ability more into my late teens, becoming more clairvoyant and an empath.

Two of my DD also have the ability, one of them is particularly advanced. I am doing my best to help them accept it instead of fearing it but it can be very scary at times, especially my DD who see's in more detail.

I feel maybe higher power sends these visions and messages to convince or show the person they have an ability and more than likely a life's purpose to follow. To find their destined path in life To help or heal people

Don't you think this 'higher power' would be better off gifting these 'visions and messages' to somebody who didn't feel the need to monetise them?

@PicketGenceCottage I am currently exploring different career options and have a few opportunities/interview.
If you have the time I would really appreciate it if there is anything you pick up that you could relay to me please?
I want to make the best decision for me and my family. Thanks

My father died 6 months ago. The grief has and is still over whelming. The guilt and loss is very hard to live with. Do you have any advice about dealing with loss/grief?

GarethSouthgateWould · 12/07/2018 12:34

Urbanbeetler · 12/07/2018 12:34

Yes it was me who posted about my daughter. I got some support for her. When she was little it really scared her but now she accepts the stuff she sees is just a normal part of who she is. She isn't interested in developing it any further so she tries to ignore it.

WRT the visions. To answer the question she sees what's going to happen but she isn't aware of when it's going to happen or exactly what the vision means until later. She had a vision of the Paris attack a year before it happened. In that case she saw the Eiffel Tower in the vision. She also saw a vision of the more recent New York City truck attack the day before it happened. She saw the victims and what was in the area beyond them and the truck but didn't know at the time it was in NY.

She also had some horrible visions around the time of the referendum.

GarethSouthgateWould · 12/07/2018 13:26

I had horrible visions around the time of the referendum. They came true as well.

I would have to link in to your energies to read for you. I am not here to advertise or promote myself. I am not using this thread as a platform. I apologise.

I think a lot of what you have described as your abilities is simply being empathetic and having the ability to tune in to how people are feeling and their energy.
I don't think you are unique in this, many many people have to ability to do this. We will all have those times when we have a premonition or an overwhelming feeling that somethings not right with someone etc.

Ellapaella · 12/07/2018 14:13

You are causing a lot of confusion when you are replying as you aren't quoting other posters in bold, which would be helpful otherwise we can't tell it's a quote.or at least use quotation marks.

purpleorchidwhite · 12/07/2018 14:18

Picket, I have something like this and I've hidden it all my life, only people I 'know' things about I approach.

I just know things about people I've connected with. Very powerful and sometimes alarming things. I've not been told by them, and these things cannot be shared casually. It's not the sort of thing that would crop up in conversation for example.

It's always been accurate and true and has blown the other person away when I've shared it. I feel I have a duty to share what I know even though it's horribly painful.

It's always been at a time when they were most vulnerable and needed someone to know this thing they couldn't share with anyone. I could then support them.

I'm not talking little things, I'm talking big life changing horrors.

I find it all very draining when it's happening.

I didn't know there was a name for it.

I'm feeling less freakish now!

Hello Halfpass. I am very sorry to hear of the demise of your father. I strongly believe (although I am not here to disrupt anyone else's belief system) that the soul lives on. Loved ones are able to see and hear the people they have left behind. Going through grief and bereavement is not easy and no real words said can make it less painful. There is no time period that can pass and the process is complete, it varies from each individual. Be prepared for re-lapses at times, when something said or seen triggers that deep feeling of loss again. You can't tell yourself a few months or a year has gone by so you have to snap out of it, because that space your father left behind will always be a reminder of your loss. It's a healing process that will be gradual and step by step. Don't feel because they have passed over you cannot speak to them. When you feel the need and from time to time there is an urge speak to him, especially if you see or hear something that reminds you of him. Don't be afraid if you feel their presence as loved ones have been known to visit and their presence has been felt.
As for advice I really feel what helps heal the loss to some extent and could in a way help with guilt of not being able to spend as much time with them or doing enough for them when they were here etc is to create some kind of memorial or ongoing source that would benefit others to honour the loved one who has passed. Ie, planting a tree in their name, or sponsoring someone in a 3rd world country for a small monthly donation, or donating a water well or handpump for 3rd world projects, or donating a park bench. Some kind of ongoing benefit to people or society which would also reap peace and blessings upon your fathers soul.

I hope I have not overstepped the mark within my response. I wish you well.

I wasn't going to bother posting on this thread, but then I saw your post at 03:04 and your comments about those who view psychics negatively annoyed me. People have the right to an opinion, especially when they feel that people like yourself are exploiting vulnerable people!

I mean, come on Picket, you are charging people roughly three times the living wage per hour, just to chat with them! ... oh, and if you find it so 'draining' why not read for less people? or is it all about what money you can squeeze out of them? and furthermore, why is it necessary for you to charge people just for helping them? ... why not just ask your clients to make a donation to a worthy cause themselves as a 'thank you' for your help? ... Have you declared your earnings to the tax man?
You say you're only 22, yet your very last post sounds like its been written/spoken somewhere by an older and wiser person with life experience, and I personally believe that you probably don't write and say your own words.
One more thing, its very easy to find info on people on social media, especially when you know whose family/friends a 'psychic' will be reading for next. Just saying.

DuckingMel · 12/07/2018 17:30

Add a visually orientated imaginative mind to being highly empathic and a good "reader" of people and situations, you have a psychic. This is my experience and knowledge, based on a various degrees in directly related subjects. I have visions too, but I classify them as machinations of my own mind, instead of being "delivered" to me somehow. This is a mark of someone who is not only "others-aware", but also "self-aware". They are the variables you have mentioned finding hard to separate at times, particularly when it comes to trying to "read" yourself. Having counselling or psychotherapy (with someone qualified and registered to appropriate regulatory bodies) and studying psychology, neuroscience, biology, counselling and psychotherapy can unlock this self-others separating ability for you too. With appropriate training you can then legitimately use your empathy to do good as a clinical psychologist, counsellor or psychotherapist (art psychotherapy would particularly match with a visually orientated/artistical mind).

I am not saying that we know everything about the world and how it works (far from it!), but as of yet there has not been a single scientific study that has shown a "psychic" abilities exist. Thus, I believe in the incredible, already proven abilities of our human minds to connect with others and the world.

Apologies for typos! Trying, at the same time, to coax the cat through the new microchip cat flap and it's proving tricky!

thelionsharer · 12/07/2018 18:27

Why does everyone assume that people going to a psychic are vulnerable and poor?Hmm psychics are used by all kinds of people for all kinds of reasons. Some people go for fun, some just to see what it's like, some are highly successful and wealthy.

BuckysRoboticArm · 12/07/2018 18:45

I think James Randi still has that million dollar cheque thing going for any psychics out there that are interested.

Butterflysprinkles · 12/07/2018 18:52

Apologise I haven't read the whole post so you may of answered already.
Do you have to join a circle to start training the mind or can you do it at home with meditation and books that are available online? I started in a beginners circle years ago but time doesn't allow me to go to circle meetings. Which is why I'm wondering if it's OK to learn on my own at home

Halfpass · 12/07/2018 18:59

Picket ... thank you so much for your reply. Something to honour my dad is such a lovely idea and it's exactly the sort of thing he did when he was alive. Thank you so much x

Vitalogy · 12/07/2018 19:33
