I have been Psychic since childhood but did not really understand it. I did not have much support so tried to ignore it and not let it get to me. My mother is also one but she doesn't really admit to it, but growing up she would predict events that would happen.
I developed my ability more into my late teens, becoming more clairvoyant and an empath.

Two of my DD also have the ability, one of them is particularly advanced. I am doing my best to help them accept it instead of fearing it but it can be very scary at times, especially my DD who see's in more detail.

Hi OP, can I ask what you think of Allison DuBois and her work as a medium? How does it differ from your experiences?

Do you go through stages when your abilities shut down and times when they go almost hyper? Mine comes and goes, I used to see the dead but haven't for 10 years though I do sense them and I also have dream premonitions, but it comes and goes sporadically and I cant control it. I freak out and it will always stop when I want it to, but then I miss it.

Hi there. Yes all the time. Sometimes I am not focusing on my ability or even thinking about it and I will have a vision or a premonition like a deja vu feeling.

While reading I use my empathic ability to link in with energies. So that is more practiced ability Channelling my energies to link in with others energies. For a while it took deep concentration, meditation beforehand, control etc. But once I got the jist of it. It kind of became second nature.

However it's not always a controlled or a conscious effort. Sometimes the ability will kick off automatically. However it not all the time though so I do get to live a relatively normal life on the whole.

Do you think you could be put to better use than doing readings for a few quid? The world could change if you were willing to put yourself out there and demonstrate your ability to accurately predict future events.

Omg the amount of times I have wished and prayed that I can do some good with my ability FOR the greater good.
Every time I hear a child has gone missing, I wished I could help find that child. Every time someone is murdered I wish I could communicate with them and find out who took their life.
I can only read for individuals by tapping into and linking with their energies.

Apart from what you have seen in movies and dramas, it's not as dramatic as it may seem. It's not an ability That can give you the answers for everything about everything!! That's a common misconception that a psychic will automatically know everything. We don't pick and choose what comes through. We cannot ask for it on demand. It just doesn't work like that. At times I wonder what is the point if you can't see everything. Then after all that, I have to remind myself that I am not here on this earth to play the role of GOD!!!

The difference OP is that Counsellors and Psychiatrists are qualified professionals whom are there to help someone who has reached out for help. You are not qualified and you're quite obviously exploiting the weak and vulnerable. If you really want to help people why not train as a Counsellor etc rather than a con artist?

Well that's all a matter of perception.
The law in this world created by man says you have to go to university, complete a degree and become a psychiatrist. To be able to charge what they charge which can be classed as exploitation too if you want to look at it that way.

I on the other hand was born with an ability that I can only describe as, naturally given to me by god for a purpose I believe. Yes it can't help the world fix its problems but it can be used to help those that do reach out to me on an individual level.

So man made law vs god given life purpose.

Those people that go to a psychiatrist reach out for help??
Well I don't think I have ever dragged someone off the street and put a gun to their head or forced them for a reading.
The clients I read for will pay me if they are happy with their reading and I have never had anyone not pay. I don't stay on the phone until they have made the payment either. Once reading has ended Send them them my pay-pal acc details and tell them if they were satisfied with the reading to make the payment. So that speaks for itself.

Hi, thank you for your kind words. No I know better then to let negativity get to me. I know these are mostly negative thinkers to begin with. Can never be happy for anyone else or always feel that pang of jealousy over someone else etc. Mostly they are people who have unfortunately at some point in their lives been taken for a ride by someone posing as a psychic because they were too stupid to actually do their research or check out feedback and reviews before parting with money and were then cold read. So they will have a lot of bad feeling in this direction. I actually feel sorry for them because they suffer from insecurities and a deep lack of trust due to their negative experiences or their negative way of thinking.

In answer to your question, honestly speaking from the bottom of my heart I would say I could quite happily live without this ability!!!
At times I have asked why me?? I have a sense of a life purpose with this but it can be a burden to carry. Especially when you cannot use the ability to take away someone's heartache and misery or cannot change their destiny for them. However the msgs of gratitude I get from many people saying they could never have seen themselves get through the saddest or darkest days without my help. That makes me think OK if I could have helped one soul then it's worth it, and only God knows why someone has to go through what they do. It's not my place to question.

My opinion is divided, but If someone said I have to choose one option of what I thought. I would have to say it's a curse.

I have had this many times when I can't read a person or cannot link with their energies. Some people are not open to be read. I don't know the reasons behind it. Generally I put it down to it being a problem from my side and will ask then to reschedule. If again I can't read them then I am honest and tell them I cannot read you. Nothing you have done. Maybe I just can't read everyone.
I still don't know why that happens.

Yes I have linked with people with negative and dark energies about them. Generally I will not even go into it and I tell them sorry I can't link into your energies. I keep away from
Negativity as much as I can. As an empath I can absorb it and it can drain me superfast and take some time to recover from.
I once read over the phone for someone who was practicing some dark energies (black magic) felt a heavy unethical dark energy and had to shut that connection fast and make an excuse I cannot link sorry.

I'm not sure I'm convinced either way. I believe there are charlatans but I'm also not convinced that psychic ability doesn't exist - but I think it may have an explainable "cause" for lack of a better word.

I think people who believe they are psychic are actually highly intuitive, able to naturally read micro expressions and body language well, and (controversial bit coming up) I think it's possible just as radio/tv/wifi works using waves of energy so too do brain waves which we already know have electrical elements. It's just some people naturally 'hear' them and others don't. I also (another controversial bit coming up) believe that time isn't linear but a series of loops. And that people who believe their psychic ability is supernatural are just tuned in to the wavelength.

It's just an ability some (but a very small amount) of people have like hyperthymesia, synaesthesia or how some extremely gifted people can "just do" extremely complex maths equations instantly.

I always felt deja vu feeling was like I just lived or went to another time zone in the future and lived it then went back to my time zone bcz I wouldn't remember it until just before it would happen, and then every single minute detail would be identical.
So yes very true, the universe has infinite possibilities. From all the knowledge we have gained over the centuries, we possibly have not even tapped into 10% of what is out there yet to be discovered or maybe never to be discovered.
That would cover and explain many theories. But what about communicating with the deceased, Reincarnation of souls??

I watched that on someone's recommendation actually. I found it fascinating but at the same time from my own experiences I know that the scenes were very much highly dramatised for entertainment purposes. Alison DuBois character in Medium is based on real life events. A psychic medium who has helped Arizona police capture murderers or helped solve mysterious disappearances. People like that are hero's on a supernatural level and a lot of respect to them.

You see I can only link in with a persons energy and read them. Generally see around them their situation their life what course it's on the energies linked to them and any msgs that come through yes you can say on a clairvoyant level.

I am not a medium. I can sense a presence around people but that's very rare. But no ghost of a deceased person has ever tried to communicate with me directly.

Yes auras are made up of energies. We know there are radio waves etc. It can't be too hard to believe there is an energy frequency too that can be tapped into. Our soul is what is made of energy. It's like the halo of the soul is a persons aura that surrounds them like a huge fan and halo behind and over them.

If I am sat in-front if a person I can see their aura in my minds eye. Same as when I link in with voice vibration. The different colours it is made up of reflects their mood, their character, their emotions and feelings etc. When I tap into their aura/energy I begin to feel this through their energy. Seeing the colours helps too.
Yes colours can change and glow intensely or dimly. Depending on the colours that reflect the mood or emotions and feelings etc.

That doesn't answer my question. I meant - don't you think your abilities are more valuable than a few quid for giving someone relationship advice? Don't you think that if you proved beyond any doubt that you have paranormal abilities that it could change the world? If you really do see the future, even from time to time and only under certain conditions, this is massive!

Did you watch Darren brown cold read? Tapping into auras ect can you see any similarities. Have you ever considered your not psychic and just good at reading people which is a practiced skill anyone can acquire

Hi PF. One of my daughters has clairvoyant ability. Although she's 14 now and tries to block it out as much as she can. She has had visions of terrorist attacks before they happen.

One thing I wanted to ask you - do you see visions and when you do do they look like cartoons as this is something that seems to happen to my dd.

Because taking money from vulnerable, grieving or distressed people in return for a load of half-baked lies based on some nonsense about 'energy waves' is a really positive way to live your life.
