Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Country rock
Flora Proactiv
I can't believe it's not butter

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

TanquerayTickles Fri 11-Oct-19 14:52:44

Sticking with Lurpak. Please no one tell me it's problematic grin

HirplesWithHaggis Fri 11-Oct-19 14:52:52

Don't buy any of those products anyway so happy to join the boycott. grin

terryleather Fri 11-Oct-19 14:53:00

I wouldn't eat any of those greasy-assed spreads if you paid me.

Butter ftw!!!!!

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost Fri 11-Oct-19 14:53:09

Clearly they've investigated and found nobody here buys there stuff.

spoonyJoe Fri 11-Oct-19 14:54:07

Flora used to be
'Flora, the margarine for men'.

Surely most Mumsnetters buy butter!

mogtheexcellent Fri 11-Oct-19 14:54:41

@Artesia grin

KatvonHostileExtremist Fri 11-Oct-19 14:54:45

Thanks for giving me that list.
Their products are pretty shit so no great loss

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost Fri 11-Oct-19 14:55:37

I'm not even totally sure they've ever advertised on mumsnet....

mogtheexcellent Fri 11-Oct-19 14:56:02

Oops posted to soon. Flora is papa anyhow but DH likes it. He is not allowed to touch my fancy butter. Will switch to supermarket brand now.

MrsTerryPratchett Fri 11-Oct-19 14:56:18

I'm a MERB. No spreads in my fridge.

littlbrowndog Fri 11-Oct-19 14:56:22

Devestated that I can no longer buy their greasy shite 😂😂

DonPablo Fri 11-Oct-19 14:56:57

Ha, and there's the next marketing campaign.

#I identify as butter.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost Fri 11-Oct-19 14:57:18

Wasn't one of their slogans "Cheating's good, Go ahead Cheat on butter?"

Doobigetta Fri 11-Oct-19 14:57:55

Thank you. I used to avoid those products because they were nasty crap, but in future I’ll avoid them because I’m officially boycotting the manufacturer.

HumberElla Fri 11-Oct-19 14:58:16

Very helpful to know, thank you.
I try not to buy overly processed and highly manufactured food products, but this is a good additional reason to avoid this brand.

misscockerspaniel Fri 11-Oct-19 14:59:12

I would boycott them but as I have never heard of most of those products/brands, let alone bought any of them .......

Hidingtonothing Fri 11-Oct-19 14:59:37

No hardship here either, proper butter only in this house which I guess makes me even more exclusionary grin

terryleather Fri 11-Oct-19 15:03:51

This thread is making crave toast with lashings of lovely butter, the fancy kind with the salt crystals....<drools>...

Has anyone ever drooled over thoughts of Flora....anyone...?

CountFosco Fri 11-Oct-19 15:05:09

I shall continue to buy butter. Isn't MN far to middle class for their spreads? Shall have to tell my mother to stop buying Flora though if they don't want her grubby money, she struggles with drag let alone those who claim to be women all the time.

Datun Fri 11-Oct-19 15:05:48

Oh dear, Flora.

The only thing your tweet suggests to me Is that whoever wrote it, is quite content to lose the custom of the 12-14 million unique users of mumsnet. Mostly women.

Your grasp of business is absolutely shocking.

Not to mention your attitude to women, your customer base.

Oh well.

WomaninBoots Fri 11-Oct-19 15:07:22

Just seen it splashed triumphantly on Facebook "stop funding hate" who I'm sure I had put on snooze but has popped back up. Because women having robust opinions about biological fact is just so hateful right?
