Upfield (manufacturers of Flora marg, and Proactiv) don't want Mumsnet to buy their products any more

They've made the decision to 'no longer work with Mumsnet' because they want to 'treat everyone equally' because of their 'values'.

By this I'm sure they mean any woman who uses this site should definitely NOT buy their products. That would be an unpleasant association between mumsnet and their values that would be too much to bear.

Here is a helpful list of their products that they don't want in any way associated with Mumsnet:

Please don't sully their brands with any association from you, you horrid mumsnetters. Your money is tainted with unacceptable values.

This trend for brands to have political, virtually religious affiliations seems unbelievably stupid if you want to flog stuff to the public at large.

They are in the business to sell not preach. But still, the tweets and replies section on their account is a hoot.

This is entirely it. Has Upfield noticed what passes on Twitter as perfectly acceptable? Do they know about MAPS and all the fetish porn stuff, the death threats to women that are reported but cleared as fine by Twitter staff?

But that is tickety-boo, isn't it? Mumsnet, however, Mumsnet is just beyond the pale. With its questions and its nagging on and on about safeguarding and the rights of women and children.

Look if they havent made a stand on Uganda, the nutritional value of their offerings, vegan status, they are hardly going to take a stance regarding the crackpots, racists, bullies, loons and incels on Twitter are they?

So why is the ONLY issue they take a stand on the 'mothers are transphobic' one? Over all other issues? Seems slightly odd to me.

Because someone with a loud voice told them what to think, and sprinkle a rainbow on anything these days and it's golden...

I was in my local Sainsburys today, one of their smaller stores rather than a big supermarket, and they are selling all of their Flora products at half price.

They can't even give the stuff away, I've been to my local community kitchen before and they have tubs of the stuff just sitting on the shelves, no one takes it.

I haven’t seen much vegan rage (yet). I’d be mightily pissed if I thought I was buying a vegan product and found it wasn’t. Especially if, say, I was buying it for a child with dairy allergies.
