Welcome all, plenty cushions around the Aga, incense burning and candles lit Halloween Smile

ThatsNotEvenAWord · 15/09/2018 18:41

Found you!!

Seeing as it’s Saturday I’m pouring a glass of something nice ready to learn some more. This is fast becoming my favourite corner of the Internet.

Elphame · 15/09/2018 19:02

Gosh things move fast in these threads. I've had a day or two in the Tanat Valley and on the shores of Llyn Tegid. No mobile phone connection and no internet either!

Time for a large glass of wine and a catch up :)

speakout · 15/09/2018 19:05

Great that you could find and join. All welcome

BlankTimes thank you so much for posting the links- I had no idea this thread would fill up so quickly.

You are a very positive force.

On the previous thread there was some discussion about Glastonbury. It does have an odd vibe but I’ve always found the Chalice Well very peaceful.

Avebury feels very welcoming although some of the stones have a very strong energetic boundary - definitely felt a bit of ‘push back’ when I got too close too quickly.

A really interesting place is the Hurlers circle on Bodmin. Walking into the middle of that was very strange - legs like lead and felt like wading through treacle. It was a very rainy, overcast day. I do wonder if the weather has an effect on some of these places.

EnchantersNightshade · 15/09/2018 19:25

Lovely! Well done speakout

Welcome & blessings to you all.

Looking forward to more spiritual growth alongside you Smile

FitzsFool · 15/09/2018 19:32

Hello everyone, thank you for the new thread, speakout.

This really is my favourite corner of Mumsnet. I can almost smell the incense and feel the warmth of the aga. Smile

Thanks everyone for this lovely space.

Elphame · 15/09/2018 19:48

TooManyPaws Yes I've read the Chalice. I enjoy most of his books (I'm struggling with the Dr Dee ones though). Candlenight is my all time favourite. I'm torn on the Merrily series - he skirts around too many things for my liking - I want far more of Athena and less of the highly irritating Jane! I am also a little disappointed in the direction he took the pagan couple who bought the disused church and then the book shop in Hay on Wye.

ARoomSomewhere That's really good news! I'm sure you'll do great in the job.

Belle The ancestors are always my first port of call. They really do have my back.

I'm with Zaphod on the cleansing. I never cleanse my cards nor any stones or crystals etc that I use. I believe that these things have their own natural energy and I want to build on that energy, not neutralise it or wash it away.

Avebury is one of my favourite places. I like to take the track up onto the sarsen field ( it goes off to the left across the road from the pub). Lots of stones scattered across the landscape and some lovely old twisted fairy trees. It's a lot quieter than the circles but just as powerful and you have enough privacy to do a spot of work up there if so inclined.

VioletCharlotte · 15/09/2018 19:51

Hello! So pleased I've found you all. This thread is by far the nicest place on the Internet Smile

I'm snuggled down for the evening. Candles are lit. Feeling warm, cosy and relaxed. Interested in the posts about Avebury. I've never been even though it's not that far from me. Will try and pay a visit soon.

GrumpyOldMare · 15/09/2018 20:01

I have chocolate brownies and a can of coke. Time to get comfy.

speakout · 15/09/2018 20:07

Feeling goosebumps with all this positive energy

I love this space

Excellent! Thank you for starting another thread, speakout Smile

Speaking of powerful places, have any of you ever been to St Nectan's Glen near Boscastle?

If you can find it on a quiet day (not always easy) it is a wonderful (as in full of wonder), enriching, shivery place.

FilledSoda · 15/09/2018 20:35

I haven't read all of the two previous threads so apologies if I'm covering old ground but has anyone checked out 'Jessica Starr TheStoryWitch ' on YouTube?
I'm really enjoying her videos and I like her approach.
I'd recommend checking her out if you get a chance.
I'm interested in the discussion about cleansing of crystals and tarot, I'm not sure what i think yet apart from the power of intent being the most important part of it. I read somewhere recently that crystals can be cleansed with your breath .
This is my absolute favourite time of year, I hope to do lots of needle work and reading/ studying, as always finding the time is the thing.
Powerful places, I'm not well travelled to be honest but Armagh will always have a special place in my heart.

BlankTimes · 15/09/2018 20:54

Thank-you Speakout it's nice to have all threads easily found, sometimes people want to backtrack a bit and re-read something they missed in the fast pace we often whirl in.

Boldly I too have a great affection for the Chalice Well.

Avebury, if you want to see some energy-work, check out Maria Wheatley, there's a stone that can throw you off when it's touched. Peter Knight has done a lot of work there too, as well as inside WKLB.

It's not only the weather that has an effect on sites, the observer can have an effect too. If at any time you feel uncomfortable, just leave, it's easier than trying to work out why. Approaching with respect, an open mind and an open heart has led me to some wonderful experiences which transcend words so no point in trying to describe them. 'Stoned' is about as close as I could get. Halloween Grin

Pics of a Fairy Tree, twisted, as it should be.

sockportal · 15/09/2018 20:57

Hello everyone, a third thread! How wonderful, I'm coming in to have a warm on the aga.

It was my birthday last week, and my sister brought me a selection of inscense sticks which have an explanation of the mood they create on them.

I have previously mentioned my witchy gran, I was with her earlier this week and I noticed she had a risen tree in the garden, she said it was one of the first things she planted when she bought the house.

I have also mentioned my recently deceased nana, she had a wicked sense of humour and used cackle with laughter, sometimes at highly inappropriate times. When she was dying she told us that she had hidden jewellery and expensive things around her house and we they were ours if we could find them. I've been tasked with the job of clearing her house, and have found nothing, not that I am bothered by that kind of thing.I was listening to the radio and the station played U2, "I still haven't found one what I am looking for." It made me stop in my tracks and start laughing, it still feels like she is with me with her wicked sense of humour.

Thanks for reading my ramblings, the previous threads have taught me to look at life in a whole new positive light and to look for the different levels of things that happen around us.

TooManyPaws · 15/09/2018 21:30

Ahhh, a third thread! So much more welcoming than the gnat strainers elsewhere in this section.

A quiet day today cuddling dogs and doing some embroidery. I'm still getting over an awful upset after eating some sweets with stevia in.

I need to do some painting, tidying and copying tomorrow. For the last, I bought a beautiful big leather-bound A4 book, around 4-5 inches thick, in order to copy my Books of Shadows into.

Bellecose2 · 15/09/2018 21:37

Oh, what a nice surprise to find a third thread, and already filling up! So much inspiration, independent thought and non judgement for those on different paths (but under the same umbrella). I feel I develop with each new thread as there is so much knowledge here. Cannot wait for all our new conversations.

@Elphame... thank you, good to know

speakout · 15/09/2018 21:47

This space has given me so much support over the past couple of
months.
I can;t begin to thank everyone here,
Life has given me some difficult challenges- family/health, this positive energy has supported me beyond the line.
You guys are amazing.
