Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

Hello! Thank you for new thread and thank you SC for September thanks

October House of Order sounds good. There is a decent chance that by the end of this month I will have a baby shock.

Sandycarrots Sun 01-Oct-17 00:00:01

House of Order sounds much better than my current House of Hoarder Cotswold grin! Thanks for shiny new thread!

Crikey Cag! Exciting or what?!!

SC remains strangely quiet on subject of paper clutter

Hello, marking my usual spot at the start of the month, I have been really crap at keeping up with the thread recently but like to try.

I am on a decluttering blitz at the moment, everything got out of hand over the summer and life has been quite full on with DD starting secondary school but we're gradually getting back into a routine of sorts.

Good morning all!

cag i want newborn snuggles!

Our dc4 turns one this month and is almost walking, where did my baby go!

pickledsausage Sun 01-Oct-17 07:45:03

Also placemarking! I'm pregnant and in the middle of full on crazy nesting, this is sooo up my street right now!

Cagliostro Sun 01-Oct-17 07:52:57

It goes so quickly doesn't it! sad

I really want to meet my little one now. It's been a long time coming, I've spent the whole pregnancy panicking but although the birth still terrifies me (more than my first two!) I am at least no longer in "OMG I can't have a baby" mode. blush

That said we still have absolutely LOADS to do. A scary and seemingly insurmountable amount. A lot of it is more to do with moving than baby but it really is important to get as much done as possible.

Achieved nothing of use yesterday other than buying necessary house/baby things online (including a vacuum cleaner, Vax have a sale so give us a shout if you'd like the link/passcode). Oh also we did get all the charity shop stuff out of the house yay! And today my friend is coming and will take the bag of dressing up stuff I've put aside for her little reception pupils.

So much to do. DH was feeling really unwell when he finished work last night though so we shall see.

Welcome pickled this is a lovely group smile how far along are you? I am 34 weeks today with DC3, may be induced at 38 weeks though so time is pressing!

pickledsausage Sun 01-Oct-17 08:45:00

Thank you cag smile I'm 28 weeks Tuesday with my first! Eek! Also spending some time panicking which isn't much fun, I have a growth scan tomorrow and although I think everything is ok I'm still so nervous! Planning c section at 38/39 weeks due to a cord complication, so will be in similar position to you soon!

Yay to charity shop drops, it's so cleansing!!

Has anyone got the fly lady app? Had a look and it's very appealing!! I'm just trying to motivate myself to stop drinking tea on the sofa and get started for the day...!

Afreshstartplease Sun 01-Oct-17 08:55:12

I am on go slow today it seems, for a change

Cagliostro Sun 01-Oct-17 09:35:22

Aww pickled first baby how exciting ❤️ Congratulations!

I am having growth scans too, feels like I live at the damn hospital TBH I have so many appointments (I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few weeks ago) but it's nice to see baby more often.

I should really get on with stuff but as usual I haven't even had breakfast FFS. I hate mornings ATM. Our fridge still keeps freezing everything too so you never quite know what is edible hmm (fridge is one of the items we need to buy ASAP).

CotswoldStrife Sun 01-Oct-17 10:09:46

< Cotswold, late to the thread as usual, stocks naughty corner for breakfast>

Good morning fledglings! New month, new start (as I always say, I need plenty of fresh starts!).

fresh can't believe the first birthday is coming up this month! Welcome pickled, exciting times coming up for you and for Cag, looking forward to the arrival of your baby this month Cag

Passes breakfast goodies to zoo, once, foxes and SC on condition that we don't mention the paper clutter pile in my own house blush

I'm out for the morning shortly, will catch up with you later.

Honu Sun 01-Oct-17 11:34:45

Hi all, still lurking, many thanks sc and Cotswold. This time last year I set forth to do my paper clutter. This year the piles are still there, plus more as yet unsorted. I claim the crown as procrastination queen! I also paper file my tax so need to delve into (or even sort!) some of these piles before the end of the month.

Pickled I have the flyhelper app which I find essential to keep me on track. As a lark I am great at the morning stuff but towards the end of the day (ie any time after 10am!) I need to keep checking to attempt to keep myself on track.

Cagliostro Sun 01-Oct-17 15:35:14

Hi all. Nice day so far as went to lunch with a friend and played a new board game after. Have gathered some washing but not even put it on yet!

goldenclaire Sun 01-Oct-17 15:41:49

Hi, so is this page like a housework motivation thread?

GingerIvy Sun 01-Oct-17 15:45:00

pickled welcome and congrats!

Cag end of the month? wow! so soon!!!

I've done loads of laundry today, cleaned the kitchen (then recleaned it after ds2 decided it would be fun to play with the water in the sink and splashed it everywhere hmm), baked some bread and cookies, put in a grocery order for tomorrow, did some home ed with the dcs, and some reviewing of this week and next week's info on WW2 (prep work basically). Taking the bins out in a few minutes, then starting dinner.

And that's my day.... grin

Cagliostro Sun 01-Oct-17 15:51:51

Yep it's scary really, she isn't actually due until 11/11 but if my blood sugar gets any higher (as is common in the last few weeks) then they will induce a bit early. Hoping they will let her stay in full term but no guarantees!

It is indeed claire welcome smile

I should really do stuff but... sleepy!!!

goldenclaire Sun 01-Oct-17 15:54:18

So we talk about cleaning?? smile

GingerIvy Sun 01-Oct-17 15:58:18

Claire cleaning, general stuff, all sorts. We sometimes veer off a bit, but always come back to the cleaning. grin

goldenclaire Sun 01-Oct-17 16:06:18

Nonsense chit chat and cleaning. Oh my days. First i find a domestos fb group then i find a cleaning chit chat group on mn. Today is just the day that keeps on giving smile
