Order, Order! Do you have a little house of horrors? Welcome to the October Flylady thread where we follow the Flylady method for keeping our houses in order (along with some general chat and support). The monthly focus for October is paper clutter

I'll be posting links to the daily missions, daily focus and the zone cleaning - don't worry about the detailed zone cleaning if you haven't already decluttered, Flylady recommends decluttering first. Join us at any point this month Glitterball

I'll post the first October links tonight!

Morning all, gorgeous autumn day here.

Ta da:-
Morning routine
Went for run
Waiting for haircut

Sandycarrots · 03/10/2017 12:22

Waves from bed (where the furry is keeping me company). Had a very bad night of coughing and sweating (sorry tmi) and feel weak today. Glorious day outside; rather frustrating not to be out there! Dh is staying put for once so he is going to get landed with some laundry later!

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 12:32

Slow start to the day here! Got tidied up for first pupils but second lot cancelled quite relieved TBH because TIRED

Then took in delivery of baby stuff and am fielding DD getting stroppy over spellings. Should be doing lots of HE stuff but I really really want a nap

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 12:48

Pointy stick would be appreciated please! Promise I won't get stabby with it...

Getting hungry and need to put another wash on as DD has put the dryer on already, but am I moving off the sofa, nope...

Love the pointy stick fresh Grin

mines longer and got more barbs

Ok today i have made the beds, washed the dishes, deep cleaned the kitchen, then made lunch and got lazy and done nothing since 1pm. Realistically this is housework wise for today now other than making tea this evening.

CotswoldStrife · 03/10/2017 14:21

Good afternoon all - I've had a productive morning here, either I was also jabbed with the pointy stick or it was because I had to wait in for a parcel. You be the judge.

Anyhoo, 3 loads of laundry (hung up outside due to the lovely day) and lots of washing up have been achieved. Also part-cooked tonight's dinner.

Hills - caffeine. If you can't thread a sewing machine needle while the machine is running you haven't had enough As for Christmas, just three words my friends - Haribo Advent Calendar.

Have also exercised and now need to wash before going shopping. DD is at an after-school club so I have an extra hour to attempt to impose order on the house. Back later Grin

I have a wool advent calendar just for meeeee Blush not sure what ds is getting I have not thought that far. Depends if I can snag a milk free advent calendar but they are as rare as a non spinning politician in these parts Hmm

ta da
work
DIY shop - half successful but know where to source the missing bit
Pick up a few essential food shop bits

Just having a coffee before I need to get changed and finish off some prep in the lounge ready for the crazy tomo. Also have a bucket of fruit to deal with Hmm its a fun game played slow Oh and sort out the need to be in 2 places at once issue on my calendar. How is it I am organised until christmas in charts and everything but still manage to double book myself?! Hmm

Afreshstartplease · 03/10/2017 15:43

Gosh i couldnt poke cag with that pointy stick! Shes very pregnant and might pop which could be messy

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 15:46

Sounds quicker than labour though TBF

Cagliostro · 03/10/2017 16:38

I am in that really annoying "no energy or motivation to do anything useful, but completely bored out of my fecking tree" mood.

Going to put yet another wash on. And try and watch Liar on catch up.

BLAAAAAAAAH

CotswoldStrife · 03/10/2017 18:29

WOOL ADVENT CALENDAR Is that one you have bought or made yourself? If it is for purchase, I neeeeed the link please!

If anyone is entitled to the blahs today it is you, Cag Rest up it may be the last chance you get for quite a while and take it easy.

I should go out to another school fact finding mission tonight but I don't want to go Blush

Depends do you want big brand or indie dyer? Mine I have created from indie dyed minis that I have collected over the year

HillsBesideTheSea · 03/10/2017 18:36
Grin

This is an out of stock link but be prepared to wince at the price mine is less than that an from indie dyers thanks wool festivals I know the indie dyers are often a lot more. Not cheap but I saved birthday money for this this year as I thought it would be fun. Blush

HillsBesideTheSea · 03/10/2017 18:40

*indie dyers' pre made ones are often a lot more.

Tbh the amount of effort that goes into creating them I am not surprised, but they are not in my budget. Which is a shame because the look lovely.

CotswoldStrife · 03/10/2017 18:41

That's a good idea to make up a calendar from small balls of wool. That might be one to think about for next year, I am getting in to crochet at the moment and could do a square a day or something.

OP posts:
HillsBesideTheSea · 03/10/2017 18:44

Although This is where etsy could be your friend. I searched wool advent calendar an a number of indie dyed made to go calendars appeared amongst the other stuff. Happy hunting GrinGrin

HillsBesideTheSea · 03/10/2017 18:47

I am doing a square a day. What size yarn you thinking mine is sock wool/4 ply. Last year i just selected scraps from other projects I made and create 24 squares. I made other squares during the year from my scraps this year as I had planned the calendar. It was fun and because I chose crochet it was a 15min- 30mins project to do each square so kept it nice and managable amongst the chaos and last minute present making.

foxessocks · 03/10/2017 19:51

Also have red wine open which came with my food shopping delivery meant for cooking with but obviously poured one glass for me and one glass into my Bolognese sauce!

Sandycarrots · 03/10/2017 20:00

Feeling all floaty and odd (temp) and dreaming of how I could use 193 million lottery winningsGrin Dh says he would be too embarrassed to win that amount. I said I could help him overcome that Wink

Sandycarrots · 03/10/2017 20:04

Invest @ 3% = 800,000 interest a month

Think I am delirious

goldenclaire · 03/10/2017 21:34

Sod it i'm doing the lotto tomo. I stopped a while ago when they messed up all the numbers meaning less chance of winning but i fancy some of that £193m. I also fancy this haribo advent calandar that was spoken of up thread Blush

Sandycarrots · 03/10/2017 21:41

Good time to re-start Goldenclaire it's a max rollover as no one won jackpot! 190 million totally obscene but hey I could handle it ...

GingerIvy · 03/10/2017 21:44

SC It's kind of you to offer to help your DH to get through the trauma of £193million. Grin Always thinking of others, you are! Love it!

We have had a bit of a stressful day, but they dcs are in bed and I have a drink in hand, and a little time to relax now so hoorah.

Sandycarrots · 03/10/2017 21:46

Wine Cheers GingerIvy Grin. It would be a tough job, but someone would have to do it (sigh)
