AIBU?

Where’s Dominic ‘herd immunity, only freaks and weirdos need apply’ Cummings?

Just that really. He was last seen running towards a London tube station, statement then comes out that he has symptoms (sure everyone else on that carriage were pleased) and we’ve heard fuck all since.

Has he realised his Rasputin days are over and legged it?

Maybe he could actually be ill. But don’t let that get in the way of your empathy.

Probably retreated to his lair to decide how best to screw the country next.

His uncle has just died because of Coronavirus.
Does that make you feel happy ?

Whatever @ alliwant. He wasn’t bothered when it looked like it would just kill of the old and vulnerable. It’s been widely reported that he was pushing Boris to sideline experienced medical scientists in favour of data scientists until it was clear it would lead to disaster.

He never thought it would impact people like him. He’s a libertarian who despises ‘big government’ and socialised medicine and and is linked with strange American think tanks who push eugenics and Darwinism. He should never have been in the heart of government.

I hope this is the last we hear from him. He can go and work for one his beloved bro companies in San Francisco stealing data for nefarious reasons.

Mr Cummings is away from work having his herd immunity tested.

The guy is an absolute horror. That he was ever within 100 miles of government should terrify us all.

I'm glad he's out of the way for now. He seems thoroughly unpleasant. I'm hoping that his ideas have been seen now as irresponsible and frankly dangerous and that he'll be kept at arms length.

I have no idea but im really glad Boris decided to ignore his stupid advice and to eventually lockdown. Because herd immunity would have never worked looking at the ages of some of the people dying.

Redshoe, he never thought it would impact people he knows and loves. When all you see are numbers and the data, you forget about the real people behind him. Hopefully he’s realised how that the British people are not data sets and are real people like his uncle.

Rasputin days 🤣

The possibility that his relatives have died is sad; hearing about a death too soon always is.

Doesn't alter the fact Cummings is a machievellian sociopath who plays with our lives and deaths like pieces on his own human chessboard. Doesn't stop us deserving accountability from him.

We haven't seen much of Priti Patel either.
I reckon the virus is hiding from those two.

I am not a Tory but do have sympathy with BoJo. Cummings I have no sympathy whatsoever. The man is too dangerous to feel anything but fear normally. It's a relief now he is away from meddling in the government.

The inevitable enquiry will be interesting as well as anger inducing. My friends mother died of this last Friday, just one of an ever increasing number. She died alone and we can’t even attend the funeral. She was infected before they decided herd immunity without a vaccine was eugenics bullshit and locked us all down.

The problem with Patel is she smirks involuntarily, it would be a PR disaster to have her leading the press conference (does be the question why you'd appoint a home secretary you don't want conducting press conferences). If Raab and Sunik are incapacitated she's up next.

Tellmetruth, that's horrible, I'm sorry to hear it. I can't express my feelings qabout Cummings and his mob of datanerds because I'll be banned. Right wing coup doesn't cover it. I do expect his return though, sadly.

Getting pissed every evening, according to the son of a friend of my DM. Grin While I don't entirely blame him in the current circumstances, he didn't come out well from this bit of third-hand gossip.

He’s self isolating. Possibly ill. Perhaps he’s only popular with the PM. It wouldn’t surprise me if the cabinet hate him.... especially as he could be seen partly to blame for the spread, which appears to have happened in the last Cobra meeting before lockdown.

That and the fact she's as thick as shite in the neck of a bottle.

It comes to something when David Cameron calls you a career psychopath. I wouldn't want to trust the man to be my chief advisor, but his absence does make me wonder if we should have stockpiled a bit more.

I genuinely struggle to offer him the same well wishes I have for every other Coronavirus patient.

Maybe it's because I can clearly visualize him in Downing St suggesting that the end result of herd immunity is a lower payout for UK social security.

Of course I hope he doesn't die, but I truly think he is malign and has been a devastatingly dangerous influence on our current politics. I hope he is permanently sidelined (binned) by this crisis.

@Wonderstuff - you have a point there. Our Aussie PM, Scummo, also smirks when he's not trying really hard to do his serious face. It's caused a lot of backlash on social media when he's done his "serious and important" press conferences, then reverts to smirking when he's not speaking.
