Just that really. He was last seen running towards a London tube station, statement then comes out that he has symptoms (sure everyone else on that carriage were pleased) and we’ve heard fuck all since.

Has he realised his Rasputin days are over and legged it?

Who wished you dead Little? Confused

This thread is, like many political threads on MN, complete batshit.

Justanotherlurker · 08/04/2020 20:59

Mumsnet forums are so consistently wrong on everything that it has comforted me about coronavirus.

You had a spell of spamming posts that UK Gov was wrong because 'le evil tory' and the EU was right because of some vague issue, you are just another statistic of why MN are wanting to implemented a subscription based model tbh.

iirc you made out the eu are handling this issue better than the uk government and it's some kind of ideological issue that is happening...

What ARE you talking about.

Tonyaster · 08/04/2020 21:03

I think you might have got me muddled up with someone else!

PerkingFaintly · 08/04/2020 21:20

Nothing.

That poster habitually spams threads with buzzword-salad. There's no point spending energy attempting to distill meaning from it – it's literally a timewaster.

(I've also seen them post rationally when they want to, so it's not a language problem. They just like playing nonsense-games on some threads.)

C8H10N4O2 · 08/04/2020 21:20

just imagine what a shit show the country would be in if Corbyn/Abbott and Mcdonnell was in power

Funnily enough when H1N1 was potentially a pandemic Labour were in charge. They spent time and money stocking up rapidly in preparation to deal with a serious outbreak. They were roundly criticised by their then opposition for "wasting" money when it turned out to be less serious than predicted.

Perhaps if our elected politicians had been similarly "wasteful" rather than giving far too much influence to an unelected eugenicist we might have more front line staff with PPE and be doing scaled up testing like Germany, rather than simply talking about it.

Mad!! Thanks for explaining

The post I highlighted would be called out as racist and classist if it was directed at any labour mp

No, it wouldn’t. There was nothing remotely racist or “classist” - whatever that means - written or intended. I think she’s a spectacularly stupid woman, regardless of her academic qualifications. She’s not alone, Leadsom and Truss are equally appalling. And Long Bailey.

longwayoff · 08/04/2020 21:53

No point whatsoever in attempting to engage with lurker who has an extremely individual perception of events regardless of what they might be. Lurker is a great fan of critical thinking and our mumsnet members debating skills just aren't up to scratch for her. We're mostly a sad disappointment to the intellect that is lurker. And suspiciously lefty.

PicsInRed · 08/04/2020 21:56

When asked, Benedict Cumberpatch said only of Cummings "He's not a sociopath".

I took that to be a cleverly coded "He's a born psycopath".

FeminismandWomensFights · 08/04/2020 21:58

I have no info on where that Gollum has run off to, but your OP gave me a laugh, thank you Smile

LastTrainEast · 08/04/2020 22:01

cardibach "you can’t have herd immunity without a vaccine" who told you that? David Icke?

What do you call it when someone survives and is immune? What do you think happens if you are vulnerable, but all the people you interact with have had it and recovered?

It’s impossible to engage because most posts are complete gobbledegook.

roarfeckingroar · 08/04/2020 22:17

I like Cummings. He's incredibly bright.

roarfeckingroar · 08/04/2020 22:19

@EerieSilence "posh blonde bimbo". Nasty classist misogynist there. His wife is a successful journalist; more successful, I can only imagine, than you.

I thought the poster was referring to BoJo in this comment?

longwayoff · 08/04/2020 22:25

You call it lucky, LastTrain, you don't call it herd immunity. Herd immunity, as a naturally occuring result of a fast spreading and frequently fatal infection, would be just that. Luck. Otherwise, as previously stated, there would have been no need to develop vaccines for the endemic diseases that persisted through the centuries until the mass vaccinations of the 20th century put many into abeyance.

YangShanPo · 08/04/2020 22:25

That's why we think he's a supervillian with a secret lair.

HereDefenders · 08/04/2020 22:26

How can you say you like someone who advocates eugenics? Confused He thinks he is bright. It’s amazing seeing politicians standing on podiums next to scientists. The difference is stark. The bullshit that most politicians come out with is exposed in the current situation. I don’t know why we’ve put up with it for so long.

Well, I knew he and Johnson were close, but... I wouldn't describe Johnson as a successful journalist.Grin

The Torygraph paid him £250k a year for his column, sounds pretty successful to me.

Notsosimple · 08/04/2020 22:44

He went into self isolation during the weekend I think.

PerkingFaintly · 08/04/2020 22:52

Well, successful in respect of his own enrichment, perhaps.

Given The Times sacked him for fabrication, and he continued to fabricate stories after that, there are other journalistic benchmarks by which he really is not successful. But I appreciate not all media outlets rate their contributors on such obscure criteria as "not lying"...

(My post was about Johnson, not Cummings, just for clarity.)
