Where’s Dominic ‘herd immunity, only freaks and weirdos need apply’ Cummings?

Just that really. He was last seen running towards a London tube station, statement then comes out that he has symptoms (sure everyone else on that carriage were pleased) and we’ve heard fuck all since.

Has he realised his Rasputin days are over and legged it?

hope the No 10 civil servants are laughing their bloody heads off, what with being so unnecessary and all.wine to them.

His powerbase has disappeared with his patron Johnson being out of action and he's been left with shite all over his hands over the herd immunity débâcle. The vultures will be circling for Johnson and Cummings (sounds like a maverick detective duo in a gay porn flick) so long as Johnson is incapacitated.

“Fears are growing.....”
I snickered so loudly my cat got spooked.
Poor Dom, realising he’s included in his eugenics experiment as a specimen too.

This. And then some

As has been said on TV - and on the Today programme - which Cummings was ensuring Ministers were boycotting - Government carries on because we have a well oiled Civil Service who can carry on the process of Government.

Eeyoresstickhouse · 11/04/2020 13:16

Ah it's a shame that concerns are growing for DC....... but "so be it" in the words of the man himself. Grin

1forsorrow · 11/04/2020 13:20

Shame the politicians don't go off for their Easter holidays and leave the civil servants to get on with their jobs. I feel sure they'd do a better job.

Egghead68 · 11/04/2020 13:21

Anyone heard any update on DC?

ssd · 11/04/2020 13:21

Are concerns growing?

I'm more concerned that I've left a hanky in the wash.

ssd · 11/04/2020 13:23

Well, if there's any news about him let's hope it's nothing trivial.

Egghead68 · 11/04/2020 13:25

I couldn’t comment as my post might get deleted again.

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 14:13

@ssd I'm more concerned that I've left a hanky in the wash.

I'm keeping your hanky in my thoughts. Please do keep us informed.

itsgettingweird · 11/04/2020 14:52

Not heard anything but did read something somewhere last night that no one has really had contact with him for 10 days and he's at home drinking a lot!

Pretty much what we suspected.

But yes to whoever said above that he's suddenly realised wealth is no protector - not even being able to afford private healthcare will help you with CV19.

thetemptationofchocolate · 11/04/2020 15:19

If Dominic Cummings is still on the Tory team at the next election it will be a gift to the Opposition.

itsgettingweird · 11/04/2020 19:10

Think after today the same could be said for Priti Patel!

bettybattenburg · 11/04/2020 19:15

It's the only good thing about PP I suspect. How long will it be before they have to get Jacob RM to do the daily briefing?

ferntwist · 11/04/2020 19:28

I’ve also been wondering where he has disappeared to. Very sad about his uncle and all the thousands of other people who have died so far. The government’s approach in those precious early weeks was cavalier and we missed the chance to save lives. Dominic Cummings was pushing that laissez-faire approach, it has been well-documented. I hope now he and his boss have been so badly affected that they will realise how serious this situation is.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 11/04/2020 19:47

@thetemptationofchocolate... well, let’s hope he’s still there. I hope this lot are voted out. They are, collectively, despicable.

thetemptationofchocolate · 11/04/2020 20:10

Absolutely LadyAnne
And Matt Hancock, implying that PPE is being wasted in hospitals, just adds to this whole shit-show. I am enraged with them all.

TheLadyAnneNeville · 11/04/2020 20:21

@thetemptationofchocolate... I have a thread on Matt Hancock’s distancing themselves from the PPE (or lack of) scandal. It’s amazing and hugely frustrating to me that so many posters have misread it, thinking I’m deriding people for clapping. My point was... never mind clapping, get the “armour” our frontline needs before going into battle.

I thin Johnson, Hancock et al will all end up in the Lords at the end of their careers. And this? It’ll be spun and whitewashed into oblivion.

longwayoff · 12/04/2020 19:59

Yup, Lady Anne, that sounds about right.Angry

Frownette · 12/04/2020 20:05

Ahhh I nearly started a thread about Cummings earlier.

So which is it then? Is he in hiding getting sozzled? Or is he very ill?

There's been a distinct lack of information on it. And no, I'm not sure why I'm so nosy about it.

Egghead68 · 18/04/2020 23:59

Apparently he came back to work this week. This from The Times 18.04.20:

Another No 10 figure said

“Dominic’s back and he’s making himself felt,” . “Back to his forceful best I’d say.”

Mr Cummings played a key role in hardening the government’s line on ruling out an extended Brexit transition last week and linking it explicitly to coronavirus.

“There’s a view in No 10 now that we’re heading for no deal,” an ally of Mr Cummings said. “The two sides are a million miles away from each other.”

PerkingFaintly · 19/04/2020 00:22

Oh shame if he's back. I hoped he'd run away for good.

And why on earth does he bother with all this "an ally of Mr Cummings said" shit? We know it's you, Benny Hill.

Egghead68 · 19/04/2020 00:48

I hoped he'd run away for good.

No such luck.
