@Yogachick your description of anti-yogic losing patience made me laugh. I’ll have to try Daily Calm, I’ve been looking for longer guided meditations for my bedtime routine… I tried Yoga Nidra for first time last night and fell deeply asleep.

YWA Yoga for Blood Flow & Yoga for Strength today plus YI Satya for Self Care and YI guided meditation Breathing In To Stillness.

Kassandra two days running. She talks less!

Oh goodness yes! I had a long break from YWA and did a lot of Kassandra/Charlie Follows in that period. Recently give back to doing a lot of YWA again but think I'm going back to others for a while now. I did Yoga for Self Healing on her October playlist yesterday. It was only a short one and even shorter by the time you've waited for her to finish jabbering about different arrangements of blankets to tell you what the next position is.
I might make a November playlist for myself of all different YouTube yoga channels so I can see which ones I like. Kassandra is a favourite though as she's to the point and has lots of quick morning ones which suit me.

Poisonwood · 26/10/2024 14:02

I’m going to have to try Kassandra out, you’ve all got me intrigued if I’ll prefer it. I’d like to get to a point where I can do some routines with no audio/visual help.

Meditation and a 10 minute Sarah Beth Somatic Yoga this morning. Hit the spot, after a couple of days away from the mat resenting Adriene’s yakking. All out of proportion and some people love it but not me

45 minutes of flow this afternoon has left me feeling very sweaty and energised!

Poisonwood · 26/10/2024 19:45

Nursing a sore back after overworking whilst gardening, so chose a hour of gentle stretching today.

PatienceOfEngels · 27/10/2024 14:41

Managed Home day 24 yesterday morning in the UK and Days 25 and 26 just now back in my own space. Day 25 was meditative which was very much appreciated after a whirlwind week and a lot of driving this morning. Only 4 more days of Home. Not going to miss this particular series but looking forward to trying Revolution Friday.

Poisonwood · 27/10/2024 16:36

@PatienceOfEngels sounds like a busy couple of days! I’m on Day 7 of Flow today, quite enjoying my first 30-day routine.

Did Surya Namaskara A & B, and Day 7, this morning…will do some meditation later and try and also fit in a 40 min Weight Loss practice.

Jumbojem · 28/10/2024 10:16

I tried something different today I watched a YouTube where someone did 30 days of yoga but trying a different yogi/channel every day. So got a few new to me ones to try and this morning gave "yoga with Tim" a try. Thought it might be nice to try a male instructor as never had one before.
Firstly, the start was way too fast and found it really hard to follow. About 5 mins in he said this intro was faster/more dynamic than his usual videos so if you were a beginner might want to choose one of his other practices. It was too late for me as I chose one to fit the time available before work.
That said, once we'd done the "warm up" it was actually ok, helped by the fact I was familiar with most of the poses so didn't need to see the screen. He did talk non stop and it all moved fast, but I had selected a "flow" one. Also a bit hippy trippy mixed with medical language which is not really my thing. But it was good to do some familiar poses slightly differently, or flow in different ways. I find I get a bit bored of I always follow the same persons routine as they clearly have favourite flow sequences or moves which make different videos feel a bit repetitive. I'm definitely one for variety rather than craving a routine!
So will compile a list of YouTube yogi's to try in November, will scour these threads for suggestions! Sarah Beth I've seen mentioned, and I think someone mentioned floating yoga or similar so will look for that too.

Poisonwood · 28/10/2024 19:32

@Jumbojem sounds like an interesting plan!

I did a couple of Marnie’s practices today, for Bone Health and Shoulder Vitamins, love all of hers but the bone health one was brilliant…such subtle movements but wow what an effect. Also did YWA Plank one and Moon practice. Fell asleep to guided meditation again last night, will do more tonight - really improved my sleep routines.

PatienceOfEngels · 29/10/2024 07:12

Nice idea @Jumbojem !

I skipped yesterday but will pick up again today. Probably going to finish this series on Friday and then start Revolution this weekend.

Shavasana · 29/10/2024 07:27

I had a terrible stress headache yesterday after work. I didn’t follow any videos but did poses that felt good for my upper back and shoulders, and spent about five minutes in child’s pose as well as rocking in a tight ball. Headache disappeared! Yoga is amazing!

WhisperTree · 29/10/2024 12:30

Nice thread to remind me to practice, thank you.

I'm not managing yoga every day as I find running/swimming plus proper yoga takes too much of a chunk out of the working day.

I'm doing spine-focussed yoga every other day, and meditating daily. I really notice the difference when I miss a few days.

PatienceOfEngels · 29/10/2024 15:21

@WhisperTree I always find that committing to more than one daily thing can be hard. I struggle to fit in yoga and a walk unless I get the yoga done first thing (which isn't always doable when I'm working).

PatienceOfEngels · 29/10/2024 15:34

Just done YWA Home day 27 (nice flow, 26mins). Day 28 looks short and restorative so might try to squeeze in before bed.

Moderation in all things Smile

Rummikub · 29/10/2024 16:29

Anyone got any links to guided meditations- would be much appreciated? Especially for anxiety/ sleep / stress?
ideally you tube if possible ..

Just done YWA Home day 27 (nice flow, 26mins). Day 28 looks short and restorative so might try to squeeze in before bed.

I’m liking the synopsis. I’ll check out that day 28 home too. Short and restorative exactly what I’m looking for.

PatienceOfEngels · 29/10/2024 18:22

Just did it and not as restorative as i` thought a practice called Nourish would be @Rummikub 😂Still, only one plank and some good stretching and breathing.

Poisonwood · 29/10/2024 19:16

@WhisperTree there‘s just not enough hours in the day are there!

@Rummikub Adrienne’s guided meditations are very soothing. I YouTube looking for ones where I find the voice/flow of speech calming.

@Shavasana hope the headache has stayed away.

@PatienceOfEngels I’ll add those two to my list to try (it’s quite long 🤣).

Busy day today and feel rather sore after moving heavy furniture around on my own, but managed Flow day 9 and YWA Power and Balance. Will do some Nidra later.

Poisonwood · 29/10/2024 19:20

YWA Yoga for Comfort and Nourishment is my very favourite restorative one.

Jumbojem · 29/10/2024 21:26

Feel a bit under the weather today and work stressed so did Charlie Follows 25 mins evening relaxing yoga. Was lovely, she has such a gentle voice and minimal talking, plenty of silence. Just the job!

Jumbojem · 29/10/2024 21:29

@Rummikub how are you getting on? Good to see you are managing some yoga, it is so relaxing.

Shavasana · 29/10/2024 21:33

@Poisonwood thank you - yes, it has. I did 30 minutes of my own routine this evening. I’ve walked nine miles with the dog today so wasn’t feeling energetic. Spent some time in child’s pose with thread the needle arms - don’t know what the overall pose is called but I find this very restorative.
