YWA yoga to get the juices flowing this morning. Short and sweet and I followed up with a short upper body dumbbell session. I'm really weak, realised this doing some of the more challenging poses, particularly in my upper body. Yoga helps with some body weight type stuff but think I need a bit more work on this.

GameOfJones · 07/10/2024 14:54

@Rummikub I'm sorry, that sounds difficult.

I've missed a few days as we have been battling the dreaded D&V bug in this house too but hopefully over the worst of it now.

I did Sarah Beth's 30 minute feel good flow and stretch which was just what I needed. A simple repeated flow between child's pose, cow pose and downward dog to start with which felt great.

PatienceOfEngels · 07/10/2024 19:13

@Rummikub I'm sorry to hear that. YWA has lots and lots of meditative practices which are very gentle. Most of her day 8s from her 30days are meditation based.

Which is what I was doing today (Day 8 from Home, 25 mins). Exactly what I needed after a busy weekend away.

Rummikub · 07/10/2024 20:44

Thanks all x

I did the first ten mins of yoga for overthinking which was perfect prep for the scan/mri.

I'll definitely look at all the day 8s as my breathing needs steadying.

Great supportive thread xx

Sooverthemill · 08/10/2024 08:57

Try yoga for when you are sick @Rummikub ? I’m sorry
so today I decided to redo MOVE which I loved that year ( and I think repeated almost each month) and oh my goodness the day 1 drive me crazy! She talks so much and each pose lasts forever because she talks so much! Hope she drops this - I cannot remember. A 29 minute practice is I reckon only 15 minutes of actual yoga! I am less patient perhaps

Poisonwood · 08/10/2024 10:00

I did YWA foundation and flexibility (45min) this morning and can definitely feel it, but in a nice way. I’d like to do some before bed too, maybe the ‘nourishing’ one I did a few days ago.

PatienceOfEngels · 08/10/2024 10:46

YWA Home day 9 (26mins). Nice stretch for my glutes. Good to be outside again after more than a week of inside practice.

Yogachick · 08/10/2024 19:15

@Rummikub sending healing your way even if it’s a bit ‘woo’. Gently gently practice, nervous system reset YWA largely breathwork may be worth a try.Or pop guided meditations into YouTube, breathwork is so underrated xx
I’m finally back on the mat with a 15 min gentle Charlie Follows, bit meh, won’t bother again but am still weak from the lurgy so an achievement to do anything.

20 min- Hormone Balancing with Floating Yoga School. I do enjoy Helen Coots’ style

YWA Home day 11 (21mins). Skipped day 10 as I will be doing tomorrow with a colleague.

Poisonwood · 09/10/2024 14:31

YWA Beginner’s Flow this morning. I felt rushed, so will do another 20 min one later.

Jumbojem · 09/10/2024 18:31

Nothing for me today, but I did YWA Deep Core yesterday. Must have been feeling brave post work! I hate abs ones but I know it's because that's my weak area.
Will be aiming to get up early to do a longer stretchy one tomorrow.

PatienceOfEngels · 10/10/2024 07:52

YWA Home day 10 (18 minutes) standing practice. Really weird practicing with someone else! Did at work with a colleague.

Yogachick · 10/10/2024 11:21

Floating Yoga School 25 min Release and Reset. Fast moving & interesting practice with a nod towards firefly before a nice 3 min savasana.
How was Deep Core @Jumbojem ? I really need core strength, though I find yoga practices for that tend to focus on the front core not the whole inc the back

YWA DAY 1 of 30 day challenge that seems to be nameless (35min). Was a good all rounder. Feel SO much better doing daily yoga!

Jumbojem · 10/10/2024 20:13

@Yogachick it wasn't too bad, bicycles and some crunch type things (even though adriene claims they aren't crunches). I wasn't great at the sitting up from lying down part but 20 mins is just about bearable for abs.
I did the peaceful warrior October calendar one today, not too bad but "cow legs" is an odd pose that I never feel I'm doing quite right.

PatienceOfEngels · 11/10/2024 07:08

Trying to pick my calendar for November.

So far this year I've done:

January - Flow
July - True (my favourite - this is the 3rd time I've done it)
August - Breath
September - Move
October - Home

What next? Center or Dedicate? I think I started Dedicate way back when but didn't finish.

Thinking of leaving the older ones for last so in January, February and March I'll do Revolution, Yoga Camp and then the original 30 days of yoga. Presuming I manage to keep up my practice!

Heading out to meet a friend straight after school run so a bit out of my routine. Will fit in yoga when I get home. If it stays dry I'll head outside to the deck to do day 12 of Home.

GameOfJones · 11/10/2024 07:47

15 minutes of Sarah Beth full body standing yoga this morning as I couldn't be bothered to get the mat out 🤣.

Sooverthemill · 11/10/2024 10:50

Yesterday I didn’t feel great and didn’t do a practice but today I did the yoga for neck and shoulders from YWA and it was perfect

Poisonwood · 11/10/2024 14:15

@PatienceOfEngels outdoors sounds nice, it’s very stormy here!
@GameOfJones that’s a brilliant idea re mat and standing 😁
@Sooverthemill soinds lovey, I’ll give it a try.

YWA Total Body Workout (60min) this morning…oof!

PatienceOfEngels · 11/10/2024 18:39

Headed out after dinner. Been lovely sunshine here today. Perfect autumn weather.

Poisonwood · 11/10/2024 20:43

Managed 30 min YWA Yoga for Forgiveness as well, pretty pleased with how good I feel after 90 min today. Enjoyed a hot bath after!

Yogachick · 11/10/2024 22:48

10 minute Sarah Beth Yoga for Beginners. She’s ace at the 10 minute practices

OP posts:
PatienceOfEngels · 12/10/2024 14:23

@Poisonwood I think 90 minutes would finish me off!

YWA Home day 13 (18 minutes) outside. Very cloudy and not very inspiring weather but at least it wasn't raining!

Poisonwood · 12/10/2024 20:53

@PatienceOfEngels I definitely couldn’t do it every day! Today I managed YWA Yoga for Menstrual Phase (22 min), Yoga for Self-Love (24 min) and Meditation for Mental Balance and Grounding (18 min). Really recommend the Menstrual one, the Self Love one just felt brutal hahaha. I am planning to do that one tomorrow though, see if I can do it a little stronger.
